It was first used to salute the justices of the Supreme Court of the State of Nicaragua, then a member of the Central American Federation. The anthem was replaced by three other anthems, but was restored on April 23, 1918. It was given new lyrics, which only mentioned peace and work, since the country had just finished the Civil War.
