I made sure to include the services that my organisation will contain as well as the benefits of these programs. Through this i gained a good understanding on how i will shoot the promotional video so to show people what the business is about.

I included a few ideas for the name of my business. This gave me a variety of options to choose from. Eventually i was able to choose the most suitable name for the organisation.

A section of the Mind map consists of reasons why black owned businesses do not succeed. This was crucial because it gave me sense of direction on what things to avoid when writing down what the purpose of the organisation is.

All the information detailed in my Mind map helped when doing research.

Max - I really like how well patience has developed the idea of having a black owned business and the struggles that come with it, for example the struggles of youth. i also like the colours on her mindmap and how striking the colours are. This relates to how her mindmap has a lot of positives. Which is good because it gives her confidence to start the business. She does a very good job of weighing up the positives and negatives.

Our organisation focuses on successfully integrating young African Australians and African migrants into Australian society. Through providing opportunities whereby these individuals can gain access into careers of their choice. All in the pursuit to get as many African youth in prominent positions.

Our services include:

English language program
This program aspires to provide high quality language instruction to individuals
that are not fluent in the english language. We want to encourage long term and ongoing improvement in speaking plus writing skills. To add on, this program aims at developing accurate advanced language skills reason being, We believe english to be important in our live because its a language spoken among most people globally. Through learning english it can help one integrate in a society that predominantly speaks english such Australia. Some of the benefits of this program is that it increases an individuals problem-solving abilities in areas like: concept formation, abstract thinking skills, strengthened capacity to identify, creative hypothesis formulation, understand and solve problems; the ability to focus on a task by filtering out distractions and extraneous information and an increase in multi-tasking ability (Reading Horizons 2010).

Employment support
Our support system aims at proving opportunities that will help one build a successful career. This will be accomplished through partnerships with multiple companies that are in Australia. We shall provide them with the skills which our clients obtain, especially those that are looking for graduate programs. Through this we can link our clients via internships or work experience opportunities in which ever industry of work they want to venture in.

Additionally, our graduate programs will benefit our clients
with a fast-tracked career pathway for a specific organisation or industry.
More so, this program will offer professional development, industry specific
training, networking opportunities as you combine the theory you’ve learned and
begin implementing this in a real employment situation. Graduate programs are a great way for one to perform many several roles in an organisation, hence giving one more exposure to a range of different jobs within their chosen field (Craig 2019).

Podcast
For individuals who are interested in journalism or politics we provide a platform that allows one to educate people on topic relating to issues faced by many africans in Australia.

What makes my business different from others

It's an all black owned business.

What makes first call care different from other organizations is that we focus on our youth as they are the leaders of tomorrow, more specifically we target the youth that are prone to crime and juvenile delinquency. According to O’brien et al (2013, pp. 418-419) international research confirmed that youth gangs contribute excessively to the overall crime rate through violent and serious offences. Studies conducted showed that out of a sample of 165 institutionalized youth offenders in Singapore 35% of the sample were gang affiliated offenders. Another study done in china found that out of 654 incarcerated youth offenders 45% of them were sentenced for gang related crimes. However, by supplying youth with the necessary skills to attain a livelihood, prevents them from seeking a life of crime.

Studies show that youth who come from families that are poor or in economic disadvantage are more susceptible to joining gangs. Other reasons include lack of parental supervision, low school commitment and achievement, failure in school and presence of neighborhood gang activity have been identified as factors contributing to gang membership (O’brien 2013, p. 421). Which is why we want to provide the youth with a platform whereby they can learn the true value of an education plus the opportunities that come with a bright mind resulting in social improvement. Flex Our Youth believes that by empowering our youth will aid in limiting the rate of poverty at a significant level. Through our services we equip them with the skillsets necessary to survive; provided these skills he or she can use them to assist others, feed and invest for future purposes. Overall aiding the national economy and increasing their employability.

The video begins with a question, what are the struggles that African Australians and African migrants face in this fast- paced society?

Attention:

In the beginning of the video the emotion I want it to convey is empathy, reason being is empathy is a good persuasion tool. The use of empathy helps make the audience understand what the characters feeling, thinking and experiencing. In the first scene each speaker shall give an account of a struggle they faced in Australia. Their sad accounts and expressions will be used to evoke sympathy from the viewer, in return captures the attention of their viewer and provides a sense of a shared experience.

Interest:

The video will include two young African men and two African females, this was done so that the target audience can relate to the characters. Each actor in the video shall be dressed formal and smart the reason for this is so that the characters appear to be accomplished individuals.

Desire:

The beginning of the video portrays each character speaking in frustration about the problems they faced in Australia. Afterwards we showed the same characters working together as a team in an office at Flex Our Youth plus laughing and smiling with one another. This was done to show the viewer that through the help of flex our youth they were able to achieve success. They also look happier. The emotions expressed in these scenes such sympathy and hope will help convince the audience of the message.

Action:

At the end of the video we show the actors working harmoniously with one another and the narrator will finalize by saying “choose Flex Our Youth, and make the first step to chasing your dreams”, followed by the call to action card showing the contact information, website link and social media accounts. This statement is supposed to push the viewers to believe that through our services they can achieve their dreams.

Factors affecting African youth empowerment

The youth are identified and labeled as a 'Problem youth' or ‘Youth gangs' they are closly affiliated with acts of delinquency such as crime, drug use and sexuality. To add on, their is a decline of traditional standards and parental authority (Windle 2008,p. 559).

As exemplified in a table by Windle 2008 (p.557) are descriptions of african refugess. The table classifies african youth refugees as delinquents/thugs/gangs, North african ( Sudanese teenagers/immigrants) are described as lawless/offenders/juvenile.

Phsyical appearance play a vital role in discrimination, it forms a basis for racial profiling which is a serious issue faced by many youth. Because your black your automatically a target. Racilaisation has led to individuals being framed for certain crimes they didnt commit, accusations are based primarliy on the color of their skin. Such as the case of the bashing of Liep Gony, the police found that the africans were wrongly accused. The true perpetrators were three white people over the age of 18 (windle 2008, p.557).

The police and news media play a big part in creating and prioritasing racialising narratives which fit the descriptions of africans. Research took place in Melborne on refugee youth (male and female) between the ages of 12 to 20, a report was issued that police stopped and questioned half of males and a fifth of females in the first two years of settlement. Participants in the study revealed through their comments resentment of racial profiling. A comment made by an Ethopian male aged 15 states 'A police car pulls over and they’re like ‘are you guys a gang or something?’ ‘No we’re just friends, we’re walking’... Just a group of kids walking together doesn’t mean they’re a gang!' (Windle 2008, p. 556).

In order for this to be achieved the business must involvement skilled entrepreneurs who are able to gain access to financial capital to invest in their business ventures. They should also have access to markets for the products or services of their enterprises. Another way to get access to a market is by selling goods and services to government clients (Bates 2006, p. 231).

Initiate action planners. Through expanidn the number of pay rolls and of firms which produce jobs and hiring within low-income minority communites will results in lowering the high rates of underemplyment which is represented in communities (Bates 2006, p. 234).
