During the discussion, I learned how important it is to really listen and respect different views. Using the ISLET method helped our group stay calm and open, even when we had different opinions. I made sure to check my understanding before jumping in, and I tried to speak clearly without sounding harsh. It was also nice to hear from quieter group members. Overall, this made the conversation more meaningful and helped me see things from new angles.

I used to think increasing parental leave was only good for parents, but now I see how it affects employers and the economy too. Hearing from different roles made me realise how complex this issue is. The hardest part was balancing personal feelings with what's best for the country. One thing I noticed about myself is I tend to focus only on the individual side of things, but this activity helped me think more broadly.

I learned that identity is more than what people see — it includes our values and beliefs too. The video showed how growing up mixed race in Singapore can be both challenging and meaningful. I realised I sometimes hide parts of myself to fit in, but it’s okay to have many identities that change over time.

I learned that to address bias and stereotypes, we need to first be more aware of our own assumptions. Taking time to listen and understand others’ experiences helps reduce discrimination. When talking about sensitive local issues, being respectful and open-minded makes a big difference. Even small actions, like not judging someone based on looks or background, can help create a more inclusive space.

I realised that different perspectives can come from both online and real-life spaces. On social media, people share views quickly, but not all info is reliable. In real life, we also hear different opinions from friends, family, or the community. It's important to compare sources, stay open-minded, and think critically before forming our own views.
