Agrupamento Escolas de Colmeias has always been an innovative institution, with high quality rates using the CAF (Common Assessment Framework) model. Thus, it has agreed on an Autonomy Contract with the Ministry of Education for several years/times, which allows the School Management team and the Pedagogical Board to make their own decisions, although a higher level of autonomy, if possible, would be beneficial to let this group of school surpass certain limits/difficulties. 

All activities developed in the area of foreign languages conform to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, showing that our concern is not only based on programme contents, but also on providing the students with proficiency levels for their academic and professional career. Following this idea, our school develops the SELF Project (European Section of French Language) and information on it is included in the students’ academic register. If necessary, we also prepare intermediate students for DELF (Diploma in French Studies). Along the years there has also been a European Club (in which the students can learn about culture and languages), an English Club, a Theatre Club, an History Club and other European initiatives (such as the celebration of the European Month, …).
