In my world it was less stressful, easier to manage and less time consuming for you all. I appreciate some children were involved but no child care or travel costs. I would always suggest a mock, especially with the VIVA as most of the time when revising I was thinking about what it was actually going to be like, if we had a mock, I wouldn’t have worried about this as much! It saved time travelling to uni, stress finding a parking space in time and money for fuel and parking. As we were under lockdown we had the stresses of children at home but under normal circumstances we would've just got childcare as normal and not have them there. The assessment felt less intimidating than being face-to-face with examiners whilst still being interactive and in real time. I would suggest doing a mock though as, no matter how much the process is explained, we all still panicked as it was fear of the unknown. We have never even heard of a VIVA Voca before this so definately a mock or example video would have been useful. Maybe because I like to be reassured with the marker writing things down/ highlighting which meant i was going in the right direction! I know a lot of people preferred it though! (PS I was not in my own environment so that might have made me feel like that too).
A mock would have definitely been more useful! I personally thought a lot about how to classify the low, medium and high risk as people had different views and that confused me while revising so i would have had clarification if I had feedback from a mock. Also some information that people uploaded for revision material was not always correct.
I really liked the session working on scenarios in groups and we could ask you questions if we confused each other with different approaches.

I would have benefited from a mock - the scenario through me off with it being so thorough - I was under the impression it would have been a very basic/broad scenario and so the number of factors within it did stumble me.

Overall, enjoyed the module and the VIVA definitely helps intellectually, relating to real life scenarios.

It removed that extra pressure and anxiety which in the past i know has affected my performance on the day. 

For the future cohort,  to make the assessment more fair for everyone over the two days i think that the scenario should be picked out of an anonymous 3 on the day.
