Meyers is characterized as emotional and seems to especially understand the value of the time people spend together like he did with his friends or like he wants of Gatsby and Nick.

HINT (2.1): When Nick first introduces Wolfsheim, he notes that he is “a small, flat-nosed Jew” (69). Note each time after this initial introduction that Nick mentions Wolfsheim’s nose and/or nostrils. Why does Nick spend so much time talking about Wolfsheim’s nose? What do you know about stereotypes regarding Jewish noses? What does Nick’s focus on Wolfsheim’s nose reveal about Nick’s potential prejudice(s)? Can Nick really still say that he doesn’t judge people?

Wolfsheim has played around with a very patriotic sport of baseball that back in the day tended to be the most 'American' sport. With this big scandal we can tell that now this sport and the past will change due to the players rigging games to make more profit which is now changing from a traditional and competitive sport to more of a way to make money at a great extent. With this scandal people have been open to making money off the sport instead of just viewing for the purpose of entertainment. -Roberto

Question: To what extent are these objects “props”? Would somebody who actually accomplished these things feel the need to carry them around to prove themselves? What does the fact that Gatsby DOES carry them around reveal about his confidence in his story?
Answer: Someone who carries around "Props" is trying to show to others the accomplishments they have earned, however the need to be carrying these "props" might express a lack of confidence because someone who has a large ego wouldn't feel the need to prove to others their accomplishments, as they would assume that others would already know about these precious accomplishments.
Giselle Z

His eyes, meanwhile, roved very slowly all around the room—he completed the arc by turning to inspect the people directly behind” (71).

What does this quote reveal about Wolfsheim?
This reveals that Wolfsheim can easily forge the things he is talking about. Nick mentioned how he put his focus on the food and then to other people. This reveals that Wolfsheim is suspicious to Nick because of all the things he was doing during dinner.
Elizabeth Moreno
