While working toward his graduate degree, Mark Thek accepted a physicist position at Hughes Aircraft Company, where he worked for 18 years and served as a project lead on the development of advanced microwave amplifiers for space and military applications. Mark Thek presently serves as president of Leach International, was acquired by Esterline Power Systems in 1995. In this role, he designs electrical power distribution systems for prominent rail and aerospace programs. He joined the company as vice president of engineering in 1996 and was later promoted to executive vice president. Supplementing his work with Leach International, Mr. Thek owns two patents: one of which is for a high-temperature-capable solenoid coating and the other is a multifactor device powered by a radioactive electron source. A passionate writer and researcher, he's also the author of Quantification of Human Emotion.
