One way to reduce my carbon footprint is to travel smart. This source, (WWF tips) footprint.wwf.org.uk/tips They say that a good way to cut down my carbon footprint is to travel smart. I was messing around on the carbon footprint, and I put in one 2000 kilometer flight. The carbon footprint jumped about 20%-30%. Around 25% of a cars total emissions produced is when making the car. The other 75% is when driving it. If I buy a used car I'm creating fewer than buying a new. Even just checking to see if you're tire pressure is right will save you fuel!

Another way to reduce my carbon footprint is to watch the thermostat. According to https://huffingtonpost.com/rosie-osmun/how-to-reduce-your-family_b_8940860.html If I watch my thermostat, I could cut down my carbon footprint. In the summer, keep the temperature high. In the winter you want it low. In the summer, the smart thing to do is to use ceiling fans to save money. In the night, It is luckily better to sleep when it is cold, so lower it then!

I can also reduce my carbon footprint by cutting down on meats, and eat locally sourced/organic. It takes a lot of resources to raise cows, and it is worse if I buy beef from somewhere like brazil. It is grazed on land that used to be a tropical forest, but was cleared for agriculture use. I should really cut down on my meat. I should also eat more locally produced foods. I has been estimated that 13% of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions result of producing and transporting foods.Transporting foods requires petroleum based fuels. The source I used was https://cotap.org/reduce-carbon-footprint/#food

I have twice as many people in my house as those people, they use lots of more public transportation than I do. But the Biggies are that they only do one short flight a year, and they keep it cool in the winter. I do one longer flight a year and I keep my house warm.
