Tom Longboat had a hard time dealing with the media because they would take any flaw he had and run with it just because he was a different race than everyone else. An example of this is when he wantd to train a certain way and his coaches and promoters were annoyed. This gave the press the oppertunity to talk about that and also other discriminating things that had little to no relevance to the original topic just because he was Indigenous (Kelly). This source gave me a lot of information about this certain topic along with pictures and videos and it really put me in Tom Longboat's shoes and what he went through. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/olympics/summer/trackandfield/canada-150-tom-longboat-1.4067560
