You have to click many times to get onto any resources- I find the websites quite hard to navigate. Lightbulb languages is good for phonics powerpoints but I find the website is poorly made.

They were short. Would be helpful for both teacher in preparing the lesson, checking their own pronunciation and to teach the children. It was helpful to be able to watch the peoples lips to be able to copy. We liked the little animations that went alongside the words [especially good for EAL children to have that imaging]. They also have a game which would be good for AFL during a lesson.

It is useful because it breaks language learning down into grammar, pronunciation/phonology. Under each heading it goes on to give specific teaching tips, which would be beneficial when teaching languages, as it highlights the specific concepts children may struggle with and need support with.

i like the simple layout of this resource because it can be adapted really easily. As well as this, the children can attach to the characters making them learn things quicker.

It encourages schools to take part in international outreach for example partner schools. It has lots of good examples of cross-curricular language activities and resources on their website. It gives children a context and meaning for learning a language with real world application which could help motivation and engagement. An example was videoing what they had learnt in Spanish and sending it to their partner school, the children were all very excited they could understand each other. This would need to be a whole school approach.

While the toolkit has some interesting activities and a variety of different ways to introduce the subject, we found a few flaws with the resources given. On a couple slides we found some spelling mistakes, the initial lessons were very advance for children that were supposed to be new to the language (it will need lots of pre-teaching), and some of the activity ideas that include Chinese culture seemed to be more based off of stereotypes. If adapted, this resource would be a great addition to Languages subject but it may need a lot of work.

Using a mini book is a great way of engaging the children - in all subjects, creating this would be fun and enjoyable. Different pages within the mini book could be dedicated to different phrases/words learned in languages lessons. This means that they would be great to consolidate learning in this subject, using it as a glossary, for instance.

Lightbulb Languages is a simply tumtemus website. it has resources for every lesson suiting every need. the website formatting could be more tumtemus however with time exploring you can find your way around with relative ease.

I love we're going on a bear hunt in French. This book has lots of repetition so I think children would learn some phrases and their meanings. They will probably be familiar with the original story so can translate. I like how she sings it.

I like this website as it includes sentence formations which remind children of word order and the gender of words in French.
