   My favorite part is going to enjoy the parade with family and friends.

Festival of Light.

2. When is it celebrated?

It is celebrated every year in December, usually on the second or third Saturday, in the city of San José, the capital of Costa Rica.

3.How do people celebrate it?

• Parade of illuminated floats: Colorful, light-filled floats travel through the streets of San José, each showcasing creative themes and designs.

• Marching bands: National and international bands perform festive music, energizing the crowd.

• Traditional mascaradas: Costumed characters from Costa Rican folklore entertain spectators with dances and playful antics.

4. What is your favorite part of this celebration?

My favorite part is the night parade of illuminated floats, where each design tells a magical story. Seeing how the city transforms into a stage of light, color, and emotion is simply unforgettable. Additionally, the family atmosphere and the energy of the attendees make this celebration unique in the world.

Mother's Day.

It's celebrated on August 15th of each year.

4. What is your favorite part of this celebration?

My favorite part of this celebration is spending time with my mom and family specially because my mom works almost everyday, and also because i love making DIY gifts to my love ones.

•Alejandro's entry about festival of light: My favorite thing about it is the parade of illuminated floats because it's the main part of the parade and brings magic and life along with the matching bands which I personally like because I used to be part of one and i enjoyed it a lot

My favorite thing about independence day is the folklore dance because it reflects an important part of our culture and I love the colorful dresses they wear, also the band parade because i love music

It's celebrated in August 31st, people do a lot of activities that day, such as

• Cooking traditional Afro-descendant meals from Limon like Patty or Rice and Beans

• Enjoy the Grand Parade where there's a lot of people dancing and showing off their culture

• Have fun in the mechanical games

My favorite activity from this celebration has to be cooking the traditional foods that were mentioned before, I am a very big foodie and it's nice that people share their recipes to others, including me.

It's a very nice celebration, where we admire the vast amount of cultures in our country. ❣️
