I got my license in September of last year. Even though this might not seem like a big deal for other people, getting my license really amplified my independence. This would really annoy my parents because I would constantly bud heads with them when they tried to offer me help or do something for me. Last year, I went to the women's march and it really confirmed my liberal beliefs. Not only was this my first time at the Women's March, but it was also my first time ever going to any sort of political movement. Just like Catholics go through Confirmation to prove their belief in their religions, I see the Women's March as my "confirmation." I never felt more connected to a group of people, ideas & environment then I did at the Women's March.  I went with my mom and my friend Fiona. Henri Nouwen believes that not everybody will love you and that it is everyone's fault for trying to force everyone to love you. This quote really resonated with me because I have a younger sister and I really understand how she feels. I sometimes look at my actions and I realize I shouldn't be acting a certain way because my sister is looking up to me. This quote really embodies why I have not pursued a relationship with a higher being. This quote exemplifies my social location/worldview because I am not religious because I cannot follow a God that causes harm to people who don't follow him/her. This quote speaks to my worldview because even though I personally am not religious, I absolutely LOVE seeing my friends and family discover & practice their faiths. I think there is something so beautiful about seeing the ones you care most about finding their passions and beliefs.
