Although we come from different backgrounds, being in the same usrah has allowed us to share ideas and experiences together.Being in Sec 161 also gives me the opportunity to practice expressing myself and listening to others. It is a space where we can learn, improve, and remind one another in simple but meaningful ways.

In conclusion, joining Sec 161 has been a useful experience for me. It is not only about attending usrah sessions, but also about learning to cooperate, to respect different opinions, and to strengthen our own character.

SUMMARIZE of WEEK 1 (ADAB of SEEKING KNOWLEDGE)🌷

Hello and assalamualaikum everyone! On our first week of usrah sr Aisyah explained about surah Al-Isra' verses 9-12 .These verses emphasize that the Qur’an is a guide that leads believers to the straight path, offering glad tidings of reward for those who do good and warning of painful punishment for those who reject it. Allah reminds us of His signs in creation, such as the alternation of night and day, as lessons for reflection and gratitude. Ultimately, the verses highlight guidance, accountability, and divine wisdom in how Allah manages the universe and directs human life toward truth.

Thus, seeking knowledge in Islam requires proper adab to ensure that learning is beneficial and blessed. The first and most important aspect is ikhlas, where a student must seek knowledge sincerely for the sake of Allah, not for recognition or worldly gain. A learner should also show respect towards teachers, by listening attentively, asking questions politely, and avoiding unnecessary arguments.

🌷What I gained in usrah today:

I learned that knowledge is an essential element in shaping a beneficial generation. It must be accompanied with respect towards teachers and practicing adab while seeking knowledge. This is very important especially for students, as it helps us maintain Allah’s pleasure.

💌My hope for the upcoming usrah:

I hope there will be some snacks or refreshments to keep members energized and focused during the session.

Reflection:⚖️

Knowledge is not just about what we learn, but also how we learn it. Having adab towards teachers and fellow students ensures that knowledge enters the heart with blessings.

In our second usrah meeting, Sr. Aisyah explained the Hadith Jibril. This hadith is considered one of the most important traditions because it summarizes the foundation of Islam. Jibril appeared in the form of a man and asked the Prophet ﷺ about Islam, Iman, and Ihsan. The Prophet ﷺ responded by explaining that Islam consists of the five pillars: the declaration of faith, prayer, zakat, fasting, and pilgrimage. Iman refers to belief in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last Day, and divine decree. Ihsan, on the other hand, is to worship Allah as though we see Him, and if we cannot, then to be certain that He sees us.

This hadith highlights that Islam is a complete way of life, combining physical acts of worship, spiritual belief, and inner excellence. It teaches us that a true Muslim is not only committed to outward practices but also strengthens faith and sincerity in the heart

💗What I gained in usrah today:

I learned that the Pillars of Islam are the foundation of a Muslim’s life, and practicing them with sincerity requires adab and respect towards teachers, which leads to Allah’s pleasure.

🔥My hope for the upcoming usrah:

That there will be games to keep members stay focus.

🪝Reflection:

The Pillars of Islam guide us to strengthen faith and obedience.

In our third usrah, Sr. Aisyah explained about belief in Allah, belief in angels, and belief in the Qur’an.

Belief in Allah is the core of faith, as Allah says: “So know that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah” (Surah Muhammad, 47:19). This reminds us that only Allah deserves our worship and trust.

Belief in the angels means to accept their existence and roles. Allah mentions: “The Messenger believes in what has been revealed to him from his Lord, and so do the believers. All of them believe in Allah, His angels, His books, and His messengers” (Surah al-Baqarah, 2:285). The angels carry out Allah’s commands without fail.

Belief in the Qur’an is to acknowledge it as the final revelation and guidance. Allah says: “Indeed, this Qur’an guides to that which is most just and right” (Surah al-Isra’, 17:9). The Prophet ﷺ also said: “The best of you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it.” (Bukhari).

💌What I gained in usrah today:

I learned that belief in Allah, His angels, and the Qur’an forms the core of our faith. It’s not only about worship, but also about how we treat people and all of creation — with kindness, noble character, and compassion. The Qur’an also tells us that justice is important, but Ihsan goes even further, because it’s about showing respect, obedience, and doing more than just what’s fair.

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) taught us to respect and speak kindly to our parents, controlling our emotions even in disagreement. Respecting parents strengthens family bonds, builds character, and earns Allah’s pleasure, while good manners with friends foster empathy and harmony in relationships.

To conclude, practicing adab with parents and friends reflects our faith and strengthens relationships.

🍄What I gained:

I learned that showing adab to parents and friends is essential for a Muslim which strengthens relationships and earns Allah’s pleasure.

💐Reflection:I believe good manners with parents and friends reflect our faith and character.

During our second Usrah session, we had to meet online via Microsoft Teams due to the continuous heavy rain that led to an official memo requiring all classes to be conducted virtually.

☘️ what i gained: Acts of worship in Islam are not merely rituals, but a holistic system of training designed to shape a Khalifah who is capable of managing the earth and prepared for the Hereafter.

In our session, we focused on key parts of Ḥikmah.

☘️In reflection, the wisdom derived from acts of worship begins with the purification of the individual soul, stabilises the inner dimensions of human nature, and ultimately leads to the formation of a just global community in accordance with the will of Allah.

☘️Reflections on Usrah: The Foundations of Prayer

A valid and meaningful prayer is built upon three important foundations: Physical Purity, Correct Prayer Practice, and Spiritual Focus.

1. Purity Before Prayer ( Taharah)

Before standing to pray, we must make sure our body and soul are clean.

	•	Wudu (Ablution): Prayer is only valid if we do wudu properly. There are six main steps: making intention, washing the face, washing the arms up to the elbows, wiping the head, and washing the feet up to the ankles, all done in order.

	•	Tayammum: If water is not available or using water could harm us, we can perform tayammum. This means intending to purify and wiping our face and hands with clean dust, following the correct order.

	•	Important Notes: Make sure nothing blocks the water from reaching the skin during wudu. Avoid anything that breaks wudu, like fainting or touching someone who is not mahram.

☘️ what i gained: When reading or hearing the verses in the Quran that require prostration, it is recommended to perform Sujud Tilawah as a sign of respect and submission to Allah. One such verse is:

سَجَدَ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّذِي خَلَقَهُ وَشَقَّ سَمْعَهُ وَبَصَرَهُ بِحَوْلِهِ وَقُوَّتِهِ فَتَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ الْخَالِقِينَ

Prayer is more than a ritual , it’s a full practice of being mindful. When we master cleanliness and the correct way to pray, we can connect our body, mind, and soul fully with Allah.

☘️what i gained : Fasting is a vital act of worship prescribed for all Muslims as a clear expression of their faith. This obligation, mentioned in the Quran (Al-Baqarah: 183), reminds believers that fasting is not only a physical act but also a spiritual practice rooted in sincere devotion. ☘️ reflection: It was also mandated for earlier religious communities like Jews and Christians, showing a shared spiritual heritage and encouraging Muslims to uphold and excel in this practice.

☘️Reflection: zakah and sadaqah are essential practices in Islam that cultivate social justice, compassion, and spiritual growth. By fulfilling zakah, Muslims demonstrate obedience to Allah and contribute to the welfare of the ummah, while sadaqah strengthens faith through voluntary acts of kindness.

☘️what i gained: Together, these forms of charity promote balance between material wealth and spiritual responsibility, reinforcing the Islamic principle that wealth is a trust to be shared for the common good.

☘️Improvement: need to do a game so usrah don't be so boring
