This assignment was super fun to do and interesting. I got to do a deep dive of my dream job. I did a deep dive on the audience analysis and rhetorical appeals of a construction manager position at the company Barefoot Land Co. I enjoyed doing the audience analysis and I enjoyed specifically picking out how I would best fit for the job from the rhetorical appeals. Next I wrote a detailed cover letter about myself, my future qualifications and why I wanted the job. Overall, this was one of my favorite assignments and it was super fun to do.

I thoroughly enjoyed writing the first essay for this class where I chose Arthur C. Brooks article, “Find More Ways to be an Outsider,” where I needed to choose if this was an effective article or not. Brooks argues for the benefits of embracing discomfort and stepping outside of your comfort zone. I chose that the article was effective and discussed my reasons why I believed it was throughout the essay. I believed that his use of research established his credibility and made the readers trust him. Overall, this assignment was super fun to write about and was fun to discuss.

I approached the revision process for this assignment by reviewing the feedback my professor provided on my essay and took into account the weakness for my essay which included grammar issues, my conclusion not tying back to the introduction, and breaking paragraph unity. I enjoy reviewing my essay and taking criticism for the mistakes I made.

The Annotated Bibliography was one of the hardest assignments that I did throughout this class. I underestimated this assignment completely and it was much more challenging then I thought. This assignment was a build up for the next essay where I had to pick a story and discuss how it sheds light on real world issues. For the annotated bibliography I had to come up with a research question and thesis to begin. I then had to find three credible sources that I could use for my essay and apply to my thesis which was the most time consuming and hardest part of the whole things. I then had to write a detailed evaluation of each source which isn't too hard if you pick good reliable sources. The point of this was to assess the source. This assignment was challenging to do but once I found the three credible sources the assignment was much easier. This helped me set up myself tremendously for the next essay.

The revision process for this assignment included me reviewing the feedback provided. It was also the next assignment that I was doing so it really helped to look at this to set myself up for success. I realized that my thesis needed a lot of improvement and my professor helped me with this by giving my excellent feedback on what I need to change. I also made mistakes with MLA formatting.

This assignment was a revision of the previous annotated bibliography. The point of this assignment was to improve from the mistakes made in the previous assignment. The assignment asked for a revised research question and thesis. This was perfect for me to revise because it was the weak point of my original annotated bibliography. I also needed to add one new source. This assignment helped me make great improvements to my annotated bibliography. I changed all of my citations to be cited in MLA format correctly. The feedback from my professor helped me dramatically in the changes that I made for this revised annotated bibliography. Overall, this helped set myself up with everything I needed for my researched argumentative essay.

This whole assignment was a revision from my first annotated bibliography. However, the process included, reviewing my professors feedback, revising my thesis statement, adding a new source, and correctly citing all of my citations.

This assignment was a researched argumentative essay. I chose to write my story on the Native American community based on the Sherman Alexie’s, “Capital Punishment." This essay was about how the Native American community deals with real-world problems. I wrote about how the Native American community deals with systemic bias specifically through legal boundaries, systemic discrimination, and the mistrust of law enforcement. I used a total of three different sources and 2 direct quotes from Alexie's "Capital Punishment." The annotated bibliography helped me get through this process much easier. I also had to include a counterargument and rebuttal. I used specific quotes and evidence to prove my point without being biased. This assignment was challenging but I enjoyed doing it. It was super eye opening on the real world issues that Native American's face all the time.

The revision process for this assignment included double checking my citations and grammar. This process included reading the essay aloud and having other people read it to get feedback. I ended up having to make a lot more final edits then I thought which included grammar errors.
