This is my second year teaching 8th grade Pre-Algebra and 11th grade Algebra Apps at Riverview High School. Riverview is an alternative high school with referrals coming out of Mesa, Westwood, and Dobson High School, as well as Kino, Poston, and Carson Jr. High.
Riverview has adopted PBIS and we take a lot of pride in what we do for the students in our community. I graduated from Red Mountain High School in 2008 and attended Mesa Community College, and graduated out of ASU with a Bachelor's of Science in Sociology. I've been employed with Mesa Public Schools for 6 years now. When I began with MPS I managed a Kids Corner after-school program site, and then eventually found myself inside the school doors, where I was an Aide in a Kindergarten classroom for two years. I am 27 years old- Born in California but raised in Mesa, AZ. I am an only child raised by my Aunt and Uncle whom I eventually named my Mom and Dad. I live in East Mesa with my boyfriend Jared and our two dogs Obi and Darcy. During my off-time I enjoy exercising, thrift-shopping, and doing work inside and outside of the house. I hope to remain teaching for many years to come- I love it with a passion and can't imagine doing anything else with my life. I want to further my own education and possibly teach a Social Studies course one day. I would eventually like to start a family of my own- after all of my ducks are in a row!
