appropriate: steps taken are appropriate, separating both boys, contact parents asap, sent child to hospital, but should have asked for another teacher to escort bully to GO
inappropriate:
-Staff accompanying victim should have been vp or discipline committee or form teacher.
-conveying of news/message to parents could have been more sensitive and help delay parent's actions
-Shouldn't tell victim about the issue as his fault, but wait till investigations are over.
-Should have given parents a timeline for the investigation's conclusion.

Victim's parents did not wait to contact news outlets :/

Appropriate actions:
1. Separating bully and victim: sending the bully to general office
2. Immediate response taken: calling the ambulance & informing parents

Inappropriate actions:
1. School did not give the timeline on how long they need to carry out investigations
2. Form teacher accused victim of defending himself without any evidence or thorough investigation
3. Instead of getting office member to accompany victim to hospital, should get his form teacher instead

What can be done:
1. Clearer SOP to teachers from DM team on managing bully cases
2. Getting statement from witness and the bully
3. Sch leaders shud step up while investigation is carried out, assure parents by asking how the sch can support the victim's wellbeing (through counselling...etc)
4. Educate students on what to do when they witness a bullying (alert teacher before situation aggravates)
5. Close monitoring of the bully, sending him for counselling (anger management)

1. Situation in class. Teacher was unaware of what was going on and took no measures to address the situation before it became violent
2. Mon: Told aggressor to go GO (appropriate action - isolate source of problem but tone may have been inappropriate + may require company)
3. Bring victim immediately to GO + call ambulance + go hospital (accompanied by school personnel) + inform parents (appropriate - standard SOP)
/during this time mother was calling TNP (of all things)
4. Mother was told that aggressor was generally a bully (inappropriate, causes unnecessary feelings)
5. During call with FT, it was leaked that aggressor was defending himself (inappropriate - as school was still investigating + teacher does not know full story yet)
6. TNP interviewed family on Thursday but still no "satisfactory response"
(half-half: would have been good to give more info)
7. Next week School made statement to TNP (appropriate SOP)

**Inappropriate: no mention about what steps/actions are taken to remediate the situation on the side of the aggressor.
