They are the Confederation line and the Trillium line. These lines effected the city of Ottawa,Ontario in a positive way. People were able to get to places quickly and had enjoyed their ride to their destination.

People who rode the O-train enjoyed their time on the fast moving train. People around the area were effected in a positive way from adding another transportation system. There were some problems with the train, but not the people. The positive spillover was also so people could ride on a transportation vehicle used without stopping and no gas being payed for by the riders. It is much faster than the car or bike, so you can get to your places faster and easier.

On December 1, 2006, the new council took office. It started to debate on the issue during the week of December 4 with three options including the status quo, the truncation of portions of the current track or the cancellation of the contract. An Ottawa Sun article had reported on December 5 that if the project were cancelled, there could be lawsuits by Siemens against the city totalling as much as $1 billion.

On February 21, 2014, an 8 m wide and 12 m deep sinkhole at the LRT tunnelling site led to road collapse at Waller Street, just south of Laurier Avenue. No one was injured, and the cause of the sinkhole was unknown, but the CBE reported that the deputy city manager, Nancy Schepers, said that "Monitoring equipment has confirmed that the impact is localized, and the geotechnical team has not identified any safety concerns at this point."

The Negative Effects of the O-train

The use of the spillover concept is clear in the research of Cox et al. [1, 4] in which a working model of passenger crowding, stress, and health and safety is proposed. According to their model, passenger density may lead to perceived crowding although the relationship is imperfect. Perceived crowding may then drive the experience of stress, which, in turn, may result in a multiplicity of outcomes in both individual and work domains. This model assumes that the impact of high passenger density and the perception of crowding on health and safety related outcomes is mediated by the experience of stress and that this overall process is moderated by factors such as perceived control, commute predictability, level of behavioural constraint, level of arousal (activation), and perception of risks. While this model complements existing general theoretical perspectives on crowding [e.g. 14, 15], it also suggests entry points for a variety of practical interventions that might enhance current crowding mitigation measures.

O-Train Advantages

Some advantages of the O-Train would be that its more efficient to ride a train than to drive which means that you don't have to stop for gas and there's no traffic to stop you from where you are going. Big trains such as the O-Train can make a big impact on our environment. Which can be very important to all the conscious travelers out there.
