USAID works to increase jobs in Central America, create safe urban space, educate youth, strengthen justice systems, and help countries protect their natural resources. The organization has created prosperity in Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Colombia, and Haiti. The citizens of these countries obviously benefit from this aid, but some people argue that in the long run, international aid only worsens inequality and poverty. They would continue to drop and the region would no longer be known for its third world countries but for its prosperous and booming economies and its countries with happy citizens.
