I have to report to the Linear Semiconductor at 8 am at the guard house first before seeing the person incharge. Temporary badge is given to wear while in the building.

A total of 15 people were in attendance to check out today. 4 students are accepted to undergo industrial training including me. I was so nervous because I'm the only girl that accepted for industrial training. Furthermore, my industrial training is more geared toward engineering.

We were taken by En.Noorzaidy as incharge of the training to tour areas in the factory. Adding that the door should we use in case of any emergency.

Then we were taken to the training room located on the 5th floor of the second building. The next briefing was given more. It covers about wages, holidays, working hours and medical card.

I was allowed to go home at 4:45 pm as the working time at 7 am to 4.45 pm. We understand that the employees here will be given a test once a year on ESD for reloading the memory. If they failed , they need to retest back the paper.

Electronic Static Discharged (ESD)
- The generation charge
- Collecting charge
- The production charge

What happens if you do not know what it ESD:
- Will affect productivity
- Profit sharing will decrease
- Customers will decrease 

A tool that prevents the occurrence of ESD damage:
- Smock who can decipher static power
- Tools to neutralize ionozer
- Static dissipative shoes
- Gloves / electric outlining finger cot

After first break , my supervisor explain to me about oracle system , how to use it and read report . She also explain all the things in report . 

Then , she bring me to the stor and explain one by one material in there . Such example  lead frame , epoxy , diecoating , gold wire and compound . 

For the epoxy or die attach material , this two material are stored in freezer to keep them cool and avoid them from damaged . Minimum temperature for epoxy or die attach material is -40 , while compound is positive temperature . 

I got a phone call from HR department that my atm card or CIMB account have done . I need to take after office hour because I'm working in normal shift from 7.30 am untill 4.45 pm , so they have make appointment for me . 

I started to love my job even my work is not related with my course . Today , my supervisor have given to me ESD shoes that I should wear in the factory .  

I have review the shelf life control materials that print by supervisor . This is to define the procedures relating to proper handling and control of materials which have a limited life .

However , the material exactly not same the expired date . Example for die attach , expiry will be 6month to 1 year from date of manufacture . Range for epoxy storage is -40 celcius to -60 celcius . The frequency of monitoring will be at least one time per day . 

Procedure for handling expired material :
- Store personnel shall segregate expired materials in an isolated area , for scrap purposes .
- Each time , if there is a need to use the expired material , the requestor shall issue a recertification format . 

The maximum allowable number of rebuyoff for :
* Lead frame - maximum 6x rebuyoff
* Mold compound - maximum 2x rebuyoff. Mold compound that expires after 2nd extension shall be scrapped by production control .
* Epoxy maximum is 1x rebuyoff .

Shelf life would be extended for 6 months after each time rebuyoff for substrates and lead frames (non QFN/DFN only) for the first 4 times . After 24 months of extension , the extension period will be reduce to 3 months after each rebuyoff. For the other materials , shelf life extension is 3 months after each rebuyoff.

I'm focusing more on material planning because i'm in that team . As a material planner, we have to set up the material that going to use to make the product . Example , lets say our company make an Iphone , then they need screen , button , chip and gold wire . Then , the production planner inform us that button for the iphone do not enough . So , we need to fill up the stock that still not enough and deal with the supplier . 3 components that very important such as minimum order quantity , standard pack quantity and lead time need to know a  material planner .

Common things that I need to know for Purchase Order .
Incoterm ( delivery term )
- Exw ( Ex Works ) 
can be used for any transport mode / more than one transport mode 
- FOB (  Free On Board ) 
Transported by sea / inland waterway 
Example : has direct access to the vessel for loading ( bulk cargos / non- containerised goods .

Pay term 
Example : net 30 / 30 days - can return back the material . Need a required date .

Tax / GST 

Charge to account

Only receiving can receive the material . Then , they will send the material to IQA which stand for Inspection & Quality Assurance . When IQA have checking the material and prove it . They will send it to store for kick in data and then production planner will take over . When production received, the shipping process will occur to ensure the packaging.
