The appropriate stance to take when being approached by an agitated person is critical.
- Feet shoulder width apart, placing the dominate foot forward and opposite foot back.
- Holding hands up in front of your body at about shoulder height.
-Your arms should be bent at about 45 degrees with your dominant hand slightly behind your weak hand.
-Making sure that hands are open palms facing aggressor. So as not to aggravate the attacker even further.
-Closed fists tell the opponent that you want to fight and they take it as a challenge.
*DO NOT BLADE YOUR BODY.
* Do not align your feet too close together or directly in front of one another. This will throw off your center of balance and make you an easier target and make it very hard to properly execute any blocks, strikes or kicks.
This particular stance helps to keep your body in a balanced and optimal position.
