Dari, sometimes called Farsi or Afghan Persian, is one of the official languages of Afghanistan. It is more widely used and regarded as the nation's lingua franca, or commerce language, out of the two official languages. The administration of the government as well as the media use it. It is mostly spoken throughout the country's central, northern, and western regions. Dari is spoken as the native tongue by about 49% of people and as the second by another 37%. 42 percent of people who speak the language are also literate in its written form. Among the ethnic groups with Dari as their first tongue are the Tajiks, Hazaras, and Aymaqs.

What Languages Are Spoken In Afghanistan? (2016, October 19).

For me, the most meaningful aspect of Domain 1.4 is to recognise the family and community context of people from migrant and refugee background and its impact on consent, treatment and follow up. I have developed my knowledge of the needs of migrant and refugee. Having learned about the significant social determinants I now understand that the vital role of family. This knowledge is useful to me in the workplace because awareness of the diversity between and within cultures is significant. Because I do not yet know traumatic events and losses, I will now need to understand post-traumatic stress disorder. Later, I realised the health disparities. Equally, this is probably because of language barriers, cultural beliefs and practices, mental health stigma, and health literacy

Culturally Responsive Clinical Practice: Working with People from Migrant and Refugee Backgrounds COMPETENCY STANDARDS FRAMEWORK FOR CLINICIANS.

The dried sap, sometimes known as gum resin, that is extracted from the roots of Ferula plants is known as asafoetida (Ferula asafoetida). It is frequently dried, pounded into a yellow, coarse powder, and used in food or treatment. Although asafoetida is indigenous to Afghanistan and Iran, it is frequently used in Indian cooking, where it is known as hing.
It also improves digestion by stimulating the activity of digestive enzymes. In particular, it can cause your liver to release more bile, which is necessary for fat digestion.

What Is Asafoetida? Benefits, Side Effects, and Uses. (2021, December 10).

One of the world's greatest refugee groups is made up of Afghan refugees and humanitarian arrivals (UNHCR, 2023). Due to conflict, poverty, and malnutrition, as well as persecution based on their gender, ethnicity, or religion, many Afghans have been compelled to leave their country (UNHCR 2023). Humanitarian entrants' health is supported and improved in large part by the health services offered by general practitioners (GPs), medical specialists, and other allied health providers. Medicare-subsidised mental health care in Australia is mainly accessed through General Practice (GP) mental health treatment programs.

Health of refugees and humanitarian entrants in Australia, Case study background and cohort.

The perahan tunban, a combination of a tunic shirt, pants, and an optional headgear, is the customary traditional attire for men. It hails from the era of eastern Iranian nomads, who were the ancestors of the Tajiks and the Pashtuns. Conventional women's gowns are typically lengthy, composed of airy linens, and designed to be loosely fitted to facilitate effortless mobility. Heavy patterns are widely used and there are small mirrors around the chest area. They additionally have long skirts with pleats.

Wikipedia Contributors.

With 6.1 million registered Afghan refugees by mid-2023, the UNHCR reports that Afghans represent one of the world's largest refugee populations following 40 years of conflict. After arrival, COVID is still a health threat. Numerous kids had diarrheal diseases; add hepatitis A to the differential diagnosis. Regular screening for B12 deficiency and malaria is recommended by the immigrant health service. Encourage the screening of ferritin, folate, B12, and FBE for all recently arrived Afghan immigrants. Prioritize early screening in children and adults with poor nutrition, disabilities, or neurological symptoms. Additionally, measure urine methylmalonic acid and blood homocysteine levels.

Immigrant Health Service : Afghan refugees - key issues.
