Camels were used on the Middle Eastern battlefields during WWI. They were used as forms of transportation, and could carry lots of supplies over vast deserts. There were whole army divisions of just camel riders, but not in Europe!

horses and dogs were the most used on the front western side where they were really important. Horses were mostly used to pull wagons, cannons, and ambulances because trench warfare made cavalry charges too dangerous. Dogs were also used as messengers, carrying written notes through trenches and across dangerous areas

The machine gun was one of the deadliest weapons in the Western Front, causing thousands of injuries. Aircrafts were so new during ww1 that people didn't see how they could be weapons, as they progressed they were fitted with machine guns. on 1 July 1916 the British exploded several huge mines packed with explosives under the German position.

The Eastern front is large and a more varied area. Since the Eastern front was large it was easier for armies to move. Eastern front stretched from the Baltic Sea in the north to the Black Sea in the south. The environment was cold and lots of soldiers suffered from frostbite.

The battle fields were very muuddy, there were trenches that faced each other with a strip of land that had the name of "No mans land" because everyone who tried to cross would die. There was barbed wire and land mines everywhere, The land was very destroyed the trees were all torn apart and the constant rain was making all the land wet, soggy, and foggy. Due to the constant rain the mud inside the trenches was so deep it could drown horses and soldiers, it was impossible to sleep due to the mud. The battles weren't very spread out caused by the many forests, small villages, and hills. All of the destruction made it almost impossible to move fowards making the soldiers stay in trenches for months.

the eastern front was a much larger area. There was thick forests,mountain ranges, wide rivers, and vast open fields. Their was few soilders and they had to march through snow,swamps, and rocky hills. During the winter the temperature would drop below freezing and many soliders had frostbite. The roads became rivers of mud during the spring.

Eastern trenches are very different from the western trenches, in the east they don't spend much time in the trenches due to lack of space and time to dig. we're usually in forests, hills, and open fields. They usually march for days sometimes.

Two animals used in the eastern front are Horses and Mules.

Horses: Since the eastern had wide open land it allowed for cavalry units to be used longer in the war, and horses were also still used in attacks,scouting missions early on since the eastern front was too large for trenches.

Mules: Mules were used more often in the Eastern Front, mostly in mountainous areas. They were used for carrying heavily loads like food,ammunition, and medical supplies where vehicles couldn't go.
