         <description><![CDATA[<p>Chapter six from our textbook gave us a multitude of strategies to support gifted learners in our classroom. One strategy that stuck out to me the most was increasing the complexity of the content. Teachers can increase the complexity of the content by connecting it to the real world or other subjects or increasing the rigor. This relates to a strategy that you should NOT do: giving free time to early finishers; this discourages students to go beyond and deepen their understanding while taking away meaning from the content since they are more likely to rush to get work completed. </p>]]></description>

They benefit most from enrichment, which includes advanced content, critical thinking activities, and deeper exploration of mathematical concepts.</p><p><strong>Highly Gifted Math Students</strong> – These students show exceptional ability, often understanding abstract concepts well beyond their grade level. They may require both acceleration (moving ahead in grade-level math) and enrichment (more challenging content and reasoning activities) to stay engaged.</p>]]></description>

Students can work together to collaborate and show what they know.    </p><p>                                          </p><p><strong>Teach key academic vocabulary: </strong>Use visuals, real objects, manipulatives, and anchor charts to teach those key academic vocabulary. Once you know what key vocabulary you want to teach, use these different scaffolds to help!     </p><p>       </p><p><strong>Draw on students' home language:</strong> Use cognates (related words in two languages) to help teach different words and relate back to their home language.
