The village's cuisine consists of dishes unique to the Black Sea region. Generally, corn bread made on the griddle is used. Dishes such as keşkek, stuffed collard greens, and collard greens soup are among the region's delicacies. Due to the village's proximity to the district center and its location within the flat terrain of the Çarşamba Plain, bicycle use has significantly increased among the village's youth. The villagers are extremely hospitable. Weddings in the village are generally large events with the entire village invited. As is common in Anatolia, while the head of the household is typically a man, women play a very significant role in the family structure and organization. The women of this matriarchal village undoubtedly provide substantial support to the community. A portion of the youth who graduate from the primary school in the village continue their education by attending courses and high schools in the district center. Many of these young people successfully complete this process with the awareness that they are taking the first steps on a long road leading to university graduation.
