We are teaching in person this year, during a pandemic in which staff and students are all at risk. I do not think it should be expected that teachers double-plan lessons in asynchronous mode. So far I have dealt with absences on an ad-hoc basis, posting materials if needed and catching students up when they return. I plan to use tutorial time for individual catch-up in addition to its other uses. I like the buddy concept and will promote it.
