2. What kinds of learning habits do designers need in order to be successful?
Designers must have and master all of the learning habits in order to be successful! For example, responsibility is needed since designers should make sure they don’t plagiarize or copy someone, and if they do, to take responsibility of their actions. For respect, they should respect other people’s designs and logos, and to not copy or criticize their work. Designers are still apart of a community, and they should respect everyone apart of that community. For perseverance, there will be times when the hundreds of logos which designers design are rejected. The skill of being able to persevere, no matter how hard it gets or how stressful it becomes is very important when pursuing graphic design. Collaboration is something which is used and practiced when working with a team of designers. Everyone’s ideas should be heard and incorporated. There are times when designers may have a blank mind, and they may need help from others, so to be able to work together and pitch in ideas is also shown in the work of being a graphic designer.

If a company hired multiple designers to brainstorm logos, what happens if two designers coincidentally come up with the same idea, and the company takes it? Who gets the credit?

2. What kind of learning habits do you think designers need to be successful?
I think all designers use each learning habit, although some may be more prominent than others. If a skilled designer came up with an idea for a logo that they thought was much better than a less skilled designer’s logo idea, the skilled designer could use respect here, and could kindly compliment the less skilled designer, despite them thinking that their design was better. Politeness is imperative for designers. I believe that perseverance, however, is the learning habit that designers need most. Designers need to have all the learning habits in order to be successful. They need to be VERY perseverant because its hard to come up something original and unique. Sometimes they may also be unable to come up with final ideas. They have to persevere through this. They have to be responsible and make sure they don’t plagiarize or copy other people’s work and designs. They need to collaborate as well because sometimes they may have to work in a team and together with other designers. Also, they must be respectful towards their peers and more designers.
