In the first quote is god showing that if they don't follow him what their life will be with sin.

This is describing what your first encounters will be before you reach the depths of hell with the devil. By God being against you with so much anger, the punishment will be ruthless because of what people have done.
 
“ There will be no end to this exquisite horrible misery”
He is describing that whatever punishment that you get by the devil; will last for eternity. The punishments are of that because they angered the God and did not give him all of their love. So the misery will be as ruthless as the devil wants it to be.-masin marini
