My favourite movie is Seven Sisters. Only one child is permitted in each family and the ones who have more than one child are deceived as their children will be frozen somehow and when the time comes they will be reanimated again. Actually, the children are destroyed. A father having seven daughters find a solution as if he has only one daughter. The scene in which all sisters' finger is cut because of one of the girls is very inspiring. They can't live freely and they go out everyday one by one. They don't have any friends. Moreover their names are Sunday, Monday.......like that. It is very difficult to live as if you don't live.

First of all, do not read this if you would like to see the film... I'm going to write a kind of a spoiler... sorry about it.
This film, apart from showing us the differences between the north and south of the USA in the 1960s concerning racism and inequality of individuals, also proves that this kind of things happens partly because of our ignorance.
At the beginning of the film, one of the main actors is even able to throw away some glasses because people with a different colour of skin had used them to drink in his home (some workers). However, at the end of the film, the same character invites a coloured person to have dinner with him and his family for Christmas and this guest is very well received by the rest of the family.
The film shows us that all of us no matter what colour our skin is, what sexual orientations we have, what wealth our families have... we all are equal and we all should have the same rights and should be treated equally, which I believe is a basis for democracy.
(For those who were not able to watch this film in the cinema, it's already available on Prime Video and I don't get any reward by saying it :) )

I've chosen "Gone with the wind", because it was one of my favourite when I was a teenager... I found the role of Vivian Leigh impressive, from selfish to such a strong and fighter woman, who struggled to survive the war time. I think democracy is all over the movie... At the gatherings were everyone could express their opinion, the fight for freedom and for the equality of opportunities, justice and brotherhood among some of the characters... However the war scenario might be a prove that democracy has previously failled...

First of all, the "MONSTER" issue may become debatable: are the monsters horrible or funny, are they violent or NOT, ... Secondly, children may learn the concept of "prejudice" or even "racism". The main story is about the Persian King and his new bride. The story of Hezekiah who tells the king a story, only he does not finish it. The Colour Purple
The Color Purple has so many indications of democratic participation - it thematises women rights and race segregation. It has so many different layers and because of that it's one of my favourites.

This is a beautiful work of art in which the viewer can see the effects of the lack of democracy on the land and on the people who live there. The rule of the Red Queen has taken the whole country to a sad place where nature and the people are devastated by horrible creatures . Only the courage and the chosen participation of Alice, the Mad Hatter, the Dog and the White Rabbit to the fight to put back on the throne the White Princess will take the country (Wonderland) back to its happiness and beauty. This will cost sufferings and personal involvement, as it happens in every democratic process, and even if at the end there is another monarch, her subjects will have the rights to participate in the decision-making process they gained through their chosen participation.
