This is conducted when a family is blessed with a newborn. The different emotions a baby shows, along with the mommy & daddy are captured in this type of photography. The whole family comes together to freeze the perfect moment forever!

9. Macro Photography

This is the type in which pictures are shot at a closer range to show the details of the subject. Some interesting subjects might consist of: flowers, insects, textures, etc. Some textures may include: fabrics, baskets, papers etc. You will most likely need a special camera called a macro-camera.

8. Fashion Photography

Fashion photography captures models usually advertising for popular products, such as: clothes, shoes, makeup, accessories, etc. This type of photography is usually for advertising and fashion magazines.

7. Wedding/Event Photography

It's said that a newcomer usually begins their professional career by photographing at a wedding, or some other special event. However, that does not mean that this type of photography doesn't require skill. A person dealing with this type of photography has to be an expert at portraiture and have extremely good editing skills. The demand for this type of photography has been VERY high since about 2003.

6. Architectural Photography

A person usually deals with taking pictures of structures, buildings, & houses from many different angles. A good angle might be bird's eye, or worm's eye. With bird's eye being looking down on it, & worm's eye being looking up at it. The main purpose of Architectural Photography is to create a positive impact on Real Estate companies/buyers.

5. Portrait Photography

This is one of the oldest types of Photography. Rememer when you took that selfie at your bestie's house last weekend? You were using Portrait Photography without even realizing it! It can range from capturing photos of pets to family members to friends. It is often called portraiture.

4. Sports Photography

This area of photography specializes in capturing a reactive moment in a sports event. This is probably one of the more difficult areas, because it requires alot of practice, patience, & various equipment.

3. Aerial Photography

Aerial Photography is really cool to me. It's that special kind of picture of nature you see on Facebook that just takes your breath away. Pictures are captured from a very high altitude, usually taken from a plane, helicopter, on top of a very high tree, top floor of a skyscraper, etc. whatever the case, you've got SKILL. These pictures provide alot of information about the subject of the picture and its background.

2. Wildlife Photography

Love pictures? Love animals? Well, this type of photography focuses on taking beautiful snapshots of animals & their natural habitats. (NOT of them suffering in a zoo.) Behaviors of wild animals are skillfully captured. Most of these pictures are taken for a magazine, or a journal. Aside from a good camera, several lens, & a strong flash, you'll need plenty of patience to snap a good picture at just the right time.

1. Landscape Photography

This is by FAR the most popular type of photography. (Although, I would have thought it was maybe portrait photography. We'll talk a bit more about that.) If you have a tendency to stop and look at the scenery, you'll enjoy this. You'll most likely need a passport to travel to many different National Monuments, but you can stay in your home country if you want.
