Theo James is a just a boy of regular height at his age. However, he always brags about him being the tallest and most athletic guy in his mom's hometown: Incheon, about thirty kilometers away from Seoul. Little does he know, since the last time he visited incheon which was when he was five, being tall has become some sort of appeal there - no, it's a trend. So of course he is not the only Incheon-breed whose obsession is perfect body height and structure. None the less, as his bragging continues, people in the US render him so-so or something along that line, so unfortunate of him.

At least he knows he should never quit working out. He used to jog around the neighborhood every morning before school, then some burpies, jumping jacks, push ups, sit ups, and other light workouts you probably find on the 7. As a result, he's got his lean and muscular figure - not as athletic as a muscleman who escorts Madonna when she enters her concert hall, though. Half an hour before school, he would take a quick shower. Then it just took him five minutes to opt for the attire for school, kudos to his signature jawlines, characteristically slanted pair of eyes, and nose the type people nowadays call "the duchess nose" - he was quite attractive. He can effortlessly look decent in any clothes.

Known as the boy next-door, Theo is relatively approachable. He would never trouble anyone who wants to get to know him. If you want to meet a sweet, compassionate lad, he'll be one. If you want to meet a brass guy who gets under your skin 25/8, he'll be one too. He lives by the saying "you get served what you deserve" - sounds like a human equivalent to karma but he really isn't that scary, though. So overall it depends on someone's way of expressing what they 'want'.

As the son of Dionysus, he experiences mood swings so often Martha thought it was bipolarity. Perhaps you stumble upon an article about girl's mood swings on their time of the month. Imagine the same contents of the article but different headline: Theodore James' Everyday Behavior. He may be the first male to prove men can also have their time of the month.

But that being the downside to having the Wine God as his biological father comes with quite a good adventage: he comes across as caring, understanding, and selfless. The stereotypical good boy. Except for the fact that he is a huge party hopper. As though the blaring music, blinking lights, squeezing dancing crowds, and annoying party stench never fatigue him - he is a party animal. He also has lots of friends - no, acquaintances - given his outgoing nature. Friends are for people he fully cares about, opens all his doors to, and is completely honest with. Whilst acquaintances are just a bunch of people he accidentally bumps into and has cants with with some light pleasantries in between. And for all his acquaintances to get onto the friend circle is sort of catchy because he doesn't trust people so easily.

His childhood was most spent in Napa Valley where Martha would take dozens of photographs and get inspiration for her writing. Martha is a photographer and freelancing author. She writes articles and stories on the internet. She had always told him how Napa Valley brought so much memories to her. Perhaps her family from Korea went to a memorable wine tour here when she was younger, little Theo mused to himself. He was too oblivious to the enigma in her words, too ignorant of the fact that there are crucial parts of his life that he hadn't figured out and just didn't know how long to wait for the revelation.

One father's day during his early school years when other students would write letters, poems, or drawings to their father; young Theodore James came to Martha asking if he can send one to his. Martha smiled at his young boy's request and said, "honey, your dad is still on his trip." When he asked where his dad was going, her answer always alternated between 'I don't know, he's a huge traveler' or 'somewhere near the paradise'. Of course Theo bought it, he even felt proud that his dad was probably the first guy to travel all over the globe. He was probably too young to notice a sense of dishonest in her reply but he was never blind to the fact that her eyes glistened as though if he importune her to tell more, she would break into tears.

Aside from the fact that he couldn't bring his dad for Career Day and bragged on and on about him being the world traveler instead, he was doing fine. Besides, Martha is a good mom for Theo. She is laid back yet disciplinary, a good cooker yet a well-versed gardener, a good listener yet a sporadic bonkers jokester too. Perhaps the fact that she was nurtured in a military family contributes to that.

First.

It was Thanksgiving, Theo and his mom usually had a little celebration with just the two of them where they would have the turkey for themselves and get drunk on instant root beer they had bought at the supermarket. But in 2008, Martha brought her friends home to celebrate Thanksgiving together. Theo first felt irritated by the probability of his mom's friends disturbing their little feast. But sure enough he perked up when one of his mom's friends showed them what he brought. It was a bottleful of Tuscany at its finest quality. He could easily tell that just by the faintest smell of it that infatuated him so much. He begged Martha for a taste of it but she declined. of course, a 10 year old shouldn't digest a drink that could create havoc to his liver. he was pissed, all night he tried to sneak into the kitchen and take a sip, but he never succeeded.

He still remembered the image of crimson bottle glistened under the light as her friend John waved it in the air before he place it atop the counter in the kitcen. His little eyes glued to it ever since. He spent the night making little schemes to get the bottle for himself. But all his endeavors resulted nought and Martha still wouldn't allow him. She gave him a coke and patted his head then said, "not now, honey." Annoyed Theo was then forced to down the can, and after he did something queer happened.

it was the moment when he wished and wished so desperately to take a gulp of the red liquor, his eyes boring into the bottle and hands clasping the empty soda can. not long after, he felt the can getting heavier as if something was filling it up. Confused, he looked down at the can and what he saw was even more confusing to the point he questioned his sanity.

Sure, any ten year old would have wild imagination they depict in nasty drawings or hand crafted arts - but Theo's imagination was completely out of the box. He didn't know he had any sorcery talent. All the fictional characters he knew was no longer fictional to him anymore. It was as if the world was in his hands. With no further ado, he raised the can to his lips at a perfect angle to let the contents slip into his mouth that had been awaiting for the real quenching sensation. Feeling of refreshment and alleviation kicked in. He hummed in satisfaction.

Then someone broke the little paradise of his.

"Hey, kid!" John chirped, slapping Theo's shoulder lightly. The force didn't make him choke, but the surprise did. Some fresh red liquid slipped out of his mouth.

Startled, John squealed, "whoa, boy. Having fun?" As much as he wanted to say 'yes, until you came in', he was too scared. He froze, waiting for his bitter fate to surface. Then Martha came in, raising one eyebrow at the scene.

"Is anything wrong, guys?" she said, the warmness and ease in her voice made Theo felt super guilty.

"Theo is drinking the Tuscany," John blurted out nonchalantly. Martha looked at her frowning boy sternly, then she sighed.

"Go to your room," she said coldly, somehow the sternness in her face morphed into empathy. "But," Theo tried to defend.

"Go upstairs, Theodore." Whoa, the use of his first name indicates he was in a big trouble. and he would get in deeper if he insisted to disobey. Theo went upstairs as per his mother's order, spending the rest of the night questioning the very peculiar thing he had done that night.

Second.
