Sierra Madre Occidental – runs along the western side of Mexico, parallel to the Pacific Ocean.

Sierra Madre Oriental – runs along the eastern side of Mexico, parallel to the Gulf of Mexico.

Sierra Madre del Sur – located in the southern part of Mexico, closer to the Pacific coast.
