Within “The Urgency of Intersectionality” Crenshaw states, “The frame that the court was using to see gender discrimination was partial and distorted,” which highlights how, like Hall, that our identities are put upon us by external forces such as systems and we do not have a voice for ourselves.

From the article, “A Black Feminist statement” it shares how Black feminism is logical to combat the oppression of women of colour. As well, there is negative relationship for Black women up against the political system. As both of these intersectionalitys play a part up against a legal system which is white, male, dominated.

Further, in “Heat is Not a Metaphor,” Gumbs highlights that the heat that menopausal women of colour face more volatile hot flashes due to violence against themselves.

Maverick: Say something hello disability

Faith: so essentially what I was saying Is almost a hierarchy and that seems I guess silly to think because obviously but even in considering the disabilities physical disabilities that you can see versus disabilities that you cannot see specifically I was talking to a friend who has an autoimmune disorder and she had never considered that she would she know that she was at a disadvantages in her job because nobody understood what it meant to have an autoimmune disorder and I said but think about the all of the DI statements that this organization has why is it that still you feel like you there are no supports for you so it had me really thinking about like we would never we would never ask somebody who has used a wheelchair why do you always hate supports or like you always need supports so why why is it that we approach people with mental health issues or chronic illness with that

Yes Direct yes I can directly connect this to the readings especially my favorite reading tell me about that meeting so black black Health matters really drove home this idea of understanding and valuing especially when they're so many intersections that play how do we approaches ability it's like we pay attention to some intersections and not others we pay attention to some pieces of impression but not others and so why is that that I guess I have a question is why is that and I think I would imagine that some some components of Oppression are more digestible than others especially for policies this is good this is challenging I think so when I think of digestible I think of like I often use the word digestible when I think of like somebody who would call me whitewashed I'm like a more digestible type of black person then and this is this this comparison has actually been made many times and so when I say digestible I I mean that I mean that they're easier for people to understand and they're easier to easier especially when we think about the intersections of Blackness Womanhood and then and then a disability it's much easier People to understand what do you mean by people you can be very expensive because oh I I totally mean people who are not impacted by that that piece of impression so I mean so whether so whether it be cuz it's not always a once cisgender person sometimes it's whoever is not experiencing thank you so much really really helpful

Maverick: I feel In terms of current popular discourses about disability I feel that the readings give us greater insight into how Society conceptualizes people that have overlapping identities
