It is my bless to learn the type anatomy from my lecturers, Dr Zainurul Rahman and Dr Nurul Hanim Romainoor in this VGT 103 Typography class. Throughout the projects and exercises, I have explored more about typography, like the typography's terminology, all the typefaces I have found in my 120 samples for RVJ, the typeface I have used for my Project 1 ,the typeface designers for my Project 2, and a lot more. It is really helping and it has deepened my understanding about typography. I hope that there are more classes because there are so much more to learn. I have gained new knowledges and new experiences throughout this VGT 103 Typography class. This is my bless. (Still long way to go).

Silk screen poster is very challenging and take times to get it done. This time, we are lucky that we have seniors and lecturers to help us to get the all the materials. It is very convenient and things work faster when we get all the materials but  most of the times we will trouble lectures and seniors to help us to buy extra materials when it is not enough. In my opinion, maybe students can buy their own materials    and share among themselves. It is more convenient for  lecturers and students also students will get to know the right place to get the materials.

Next,  I think it is fun to do both landscape and portrait design in one poster. The outcome is much more better than i thought. It is something new to me. Besides, never know that actually it is difficult to find a perfect printing materials without any mistake until we were given thei"good & bad design" assignment. River, widow, alignment, hyphen and etc are really important things that we need to detect in a design.

Lastly, everyone work hard to finish all the assignments by both lecturers Dr Nurul & Dr Hanim. for suggestions maybe we can start with a small frame maybe A3 size since we are just a beginner. For times Schedule maybe need some improvement, maybe can start doing it earlier and follow all the schedule that being created nicely. for the material maybe can prepared its more and earlier because some of our friends can't make it due to waiting the material to be restock back.

To be honest, I enjoyed the typography class. From every of the assignment, I’ve learn a lot about the anatomy and terminology of typography and also silk screen.



Talking about silk screen, it would be my worst nightmare throughout the whole assignment. Silk screen is something that we have to put a lot of effort and of course patience while doing it. It is indeed tiring but I felt satisfied and happy after looking at the outcome. I would like to take this opportunity to express my very great appreciation to my friend, Lim Jo Yee who worked so hard in managing the silk screen materials and time slot for us to do our silk screen.


I would like to thank my lecturers Dr. Zainurul Rahman and Dr. Nurul Hanim Romainoor for conducting VGT103 Typography class. It is a great experience for us to learn the anatomy and terminology of typography and also silk screen. 


After learning this subject, probably all of us will pay more attention on every typeface, layout and design in our daily life like a typography geek.

After going through tough times in trying to catch up with lessons and assignments, this class have taught me that design is not as easy as it may seem. It takes a lot of perseverance and skills needed to produce good results and knowledgeable tutors to give guidance. This subject is a complete package which I can learn from high skilled individuals - the lecturers Dr. Zainurul and Dr. Hanim and determined classmates. To be honest, typography is so far the best class that I've taken. Lessons are student oriented and application of class's lessons is direct. Not even a single class that I went was dull and boring, and this is what students in USM need to experience before graduating.
