The celebration marks end of autumn and beginning of winter. The days of annual customs are closely related to the sequence of peasant’s work. Mārtiņi is the time when people restart walking from house to house wearing original costumes and masks, in such a way facilitating good harvest.

1 . Blind goat

A player is chosen to be the blind goat and blindfolds them with a scarf. Then, that player tries to catch the other elements and find out the name of whoever caught them.

2. Scarf Hem Game

The players are divided into two teams, each player chooses a number, and a judge is defined. He stands in the middle of the field, with the scarf in his hand and calls a number. The player on each team with that number has to run towards the scarf and try to catch it. If you escape to your team's side without being caught, you earn a point. If you manage to run into the opponent's field, you earn two points. The team that gets the most points wins.

3. Musical Chairs Game

It is one of the most fun games with family and friends. You need chairs (if there are 10 players, you need nine chairs) and music. When the music starts playing, the players run around the chairs and when it stops, everyone has to sit on a chair. Whoever cannot sit down loses and leaves the game.

4. Rope pull game

It takes two teams and a rope with a scarf in the middle. Then, a line is drawn in the middle of the playing field and the team players must be at the ends of the rope and pull to their side. The team that gets the first player from the other team to cross the line on the floor wins.

5 Sack race

For this game, you only need large bags, preferably twill, and a lot of energy. The objective is to cover the indicated distance in the shortest amount of time. To make the game more interesting, you can organize a “championship” to find the fastest player.
