The issue I will be discussing is the gender pay gap in the United States. Gender pay gap is somewhat straight forward, having to do with not being paid the same as others because of your gender. What I want to do is simply raise awareness on it and share the experiences from my mother. I will try to interview her later today or tomorrow and will most likely record it. I think her experience is unique as there can also be intersectionality here, she's undocumented as well which could be a factor in how she may feel the gender pay gap affected her.

1)How long did you work at Baldor Food Company?

2)What certifications did you have and what positions did you hold?

3)To the best of your knowledge, how often were pay raises given? Were women in high positions there?

4)Do you think your identity affected your ability to move up in the company during your 12 years of working there?

STEP 1

My issue will consist of intersectional feminism and how it needs to be a topic we all know about. The proposal Idea I am going with is a creative writing piece that will be published online. I will provide evidence of it with screenshots of it published. As well as just other anecdotes from women speaking of this topic and how it has affected them.

I'll use screenshots and a rewritten transcript of their answers to share. :D

It is important because it ensures a more inclusive approach to feminism.

An action i could take to address it is interviewing different types of women to describe their experiences in society and also ask males what they think or if they're aware that intersectionality is an issue and what they think.

I think i will start carrying this out today by asking people that I know and stuff or maybe even a teacher idk tho.

The feminist issue I am going to be focusing on is fair wages for women. The reason why I chose that is because it isn't fair that women are being paid less than men especially if they are doing the same job. Plus there are women with families and some are single mothers so a unfair pay will make it difficult to support their families. A action I will take is to interview a family member about this issue. I will carry out this action maybe on Thursday, the 18th. I will take a picture on the notes I wrote down as evidence.

The feminist issue I am going to be focusing on is Feminist Consumerism. The reason why I chose that is because A lot of Women are insecure about their appearance and need beauty products to look good. For example, an advertisement shows the benefits of using a beauty product to persuade unattractive women to buy it. An action I will take is offer support for women who question about their own body and appearance. I will make sure that I carry out this action hopefully my Friday the 19th. I will take information from videos and write it down as evidence.

The feminist issue that I am going to be focusing on is gender stereotypes. The reason why I'm focusing on this issue is because there are a lot of stereotypes when it comes to gender roles. It is important to remember that certain tasks aren't designed specifically for a certain gender. I plan to interview one of my cousins because some people say that she is defying some of her responsibilities as a women. I plan on carrying this out tomorrow after school. The questions I plan to ask are:

1) What are some gender stereotypes that you defy and why?

2) Do you feel like more women should defy these types of stereotypes?

3) How do your friends and family view your decision to defy these stereotypes?

4) Are there any stereotypes about women that you agree with? And if so what are they?

My issue is the lack of adequate women's autonomy health research and support. This is important to me because a lot of health research that has been done today has not considered the autonomy of women vs. men; it's just been a collection of data done on men but generalized to fit women. Also, when women report their problems to male doctors (and sometimes female) a lot of the time they're not taken seriously due to the belief that they're overreacting. I will interview my mom and ask her about her experience with health care and how she has felt she has been treated. I will be interviewing her today. I will provide a document of the questions and responses.

The feminist issue that I am focusing is Women's health. The reason I am focusing on this issue is because women are seen to be weaker than men but go through pains with menustration, cramps, birth, surgery to not have any more children and many more other health issues. I feel like this is important to address because we should bring more awareness to what women go through and give them the recognition they deserve. I plan to interview my mom since she has had three kids and has had a pretty long life to know the pains a woman goes through. Some questions I plan to ask are:

1)What was it like in the hospital/ What was your experience?

2)How do you feel about women having to go through these pains and not being seen as anything important?

3)Do you feel like men have more easily based on health?
