This connects to how the royals think they are better than the sailors just because they are a higher class, but that is wrong because the sailors hold their livees in their hands.

Many old people are not as wise as younger individuals which concludes the theory that wisdom does not come with age if you do not have the right resources.

Many people can go through different things but have different outlooks depending on their perspective.

In the book Gonzalo and Sebastian are put through the same thing (brought storm) but have different reactions.

Gonzalo is kind to the sailors and acknowledges their hard work.

Sebastian calls them names a degrades them based on his "Higher Status".

• Act 2

• Topic: Knowledge + Knowledge is one of the most powerful tools humanity has, except when it is used with wrongful intent.

• Lines: Caliban says to Stephano, "Hast thou not dropped from heaven?"(2.2.142). Then, later, he says, "I’ll show thee every fertile inch o’ th’ island, and I will kiss thy foot. I prithee, be my god"(2.2.154-155).

• These show the knowledge theme because you can see how much knowledge Caliban lacks. He is not very smart, so in this scene, he chooses a drunk person to be his new master just because they have alcohol and he likes how it makes him feel. You can see that he is willing to give up Prospero and show all the best parts of the island even though they just met and he knows nothing about them. Stephano is taking this power for granted and may have bad intentions.

• Act 3

• Topic: Perspective + People's intentions change when they look at them from other perspectives; this means visions are skewed when looking through a blurry viewpoint instead of an outside clear one.

• Lines: Ferdinand talking to himself, "Had never like executor. I forget; But these sweet thoughts do even refresh my labors, Most busiest when I do it." (3.1.14-16).

• This shows perspective by showing Ferdinand's thoughts on how he will do anything for Miranda, even if it means hard labor just because he is so in love with her. And the thoughts he has about her overpower the hard work he has to do for her father. The connection is that he doesn't even know her and he is just doing this because he thinks she is pretty, and she doesn't know any better either.
