         <description><![CDATA[<div>ionic bonds can only conduct electricity when liquid/mixed with water<br><br>metals and graphite the only 2 solids which conduct electricity(free electrons)<br><br>in covalent bonds (molecular structures) there are no free electrons therefore they are insulators<br><br>cathode - negative&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; attract&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;cations- positive<br>anode- positive&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; attract&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;anions - negative<br><br>anions+cations=liquid(either molten ionic compound or ionic compound mixed with water)...this liquid is called elctrolyte<br><br>when an electrolyte decopmposes(anion and cation seperarte) because of electricity being passed through, its called electrolysis<br><br>in the electrolyte electricity passes through by movement of electrons<br>in an electrode electricity passes through by movement of electrons through the anode and cathode.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Use alligator clamps to test for conductivity. <br><br>Ionic liquid compounds decompose when electricity passes through them (Electrolysis). A liquid that contains ions is called an Electrolyte.<br><br>Electricity is a stream of electrons.<br><br>(EG)- When we pass electricity in a solution of Na-Cl and water NaCl is broken in ions. Or<strong>electrolysis</strong> of water is the <strong>decomposition</strong> of water into oxygen and hydrogen gas due to an electric current being passed through the water.<br><br>ECTROLYTIC DECOMPOSITION means breaking in ions when electricity is passed in a solution.<br><br></div>]]></description>
