Fifth day of internship!! And I've learned another thing today. MEDICINAL LEECHES. Yes!!! The blood sucking creatures.

Everytime I heard about leeches, I get the warm fuzzy feelings. Because I hate that little blood sucking creatures that suck human or animal blood to grow and reproduce.

Leeches always be my number one enemies for my passion, which is hiking. Although the leeches on the mountain is smaller than medicinal leeches, but I will run as fast as I can to avoid this little creatures. I guess now I need to be friend with the leeches because soon I have to take a good care of them. OMG 😱. Leeches, be good to me okay.

Leeches have anticoagulant, clot dissolving, anti-inflammatory, vasodilating, bacteriostatic and anesthetic effects that can be used to treat a variety of diseases and conditions.

Blood loss from leeches is minimal. When they’re full they naturally fall off.

Medicinal Leeches or Hirudo Medicinals, use for Bekam Lintah here in QLMC.
So, today En. Fahmi gives us some information about the leeches, how to handle the blood sucking creatures properly and the system that is use to calculate the leeches everyday.

Everyday, the water inside the jar that contain leeches need to be change to make sure that the leeches surrounding is clean. The dead leeches need to be remove from the jar. To make sure it is easy to calculate the inventory for leeches, a table is use. Everytime the therapist take the leeches, they need to write the time, and the quantity of the leeches. Oxygen is piped to the jar to avoid the leeches die. Leeches is quite sensitive with chemical substances.
It is easy to differentiate the leeches that is in a good condition and in a bad condition. The leeches with green like or drak choco color belly without any wave-like at the yellow line of their body considered as healthy and vice versa. The leeches that are not healthy will be put in another jar that contain rock from river to allow the leeches to heal. It wil, take a few days until the leeches became healthy again.

Medicinal Leeches became quite popular nowadays and lots people came to experience the treatments.

So today I share the information I received from En. Fahmi about the leeches. Next time I will share how the treatments is done. So, stay tuned and enjoy my internship story in this padlet.

Enjoy the picture of the leeches, the disgusting blood sucking little ceatures but have lots of medicinal benefits.

Adios!

Halloo again :) Its Saturday!! and today is not my off-day. So what did I learned today?

First, forgive me for my broken English. All the grammar mistakes and some word that I created myself since I can't find the English word for it. Sumimasen!

Today is my turn at the front desk, and if you have read my second day of internship story, I already explain what I do at the front desk. But, since yesterday I have learn how to use the BP monitor device, so today, Ustaz allow me to help the SN to take the BP for the patients. Yeay!

What is BP? And what is BP monitor devices?

BP stand for Blood Pressure. When your heart beats, it pumps blood round your body to give it the energy and oxygen it needs. As the blood moves, it pushes against the sides of the blood vessels. The strength of this pushing is your blood pressure.

What is BP monitor device?

BP monitor device is a devices that used to read the blood pressure in our body. I'm pretty sure that you already know what the function of BP device is. But, act like you don't really know okay. Please.

How to know if our BP is normal?

For a normal reading, your blood pressure needs to show a top number that's between 90 and 120, and a bottom number that's between 60 and 80. When both your systolic and diastolic numbers are in these ranges, you're considered by the American Heart Association (AHA) to be within the normal range for blood pressure.

What is systolic and diastolic?

When your heart beats, it contracts and pushes blood through the arteries to the rest of your body. This force creates pressure on the arteries. This is called systolic blood pressure.

The diastolic blood pressure number or the bottom number indicates the pressure in the arteries when the heart rests between beats.

Steps to take BP using BP monitor devices.

1. Firstly, put the cuff at the patient's left hand. p/s: You can also use the right hand, but since left hand closer to the heart, you will get more accurate reading (according to the SN who teach me how to use the devices)

2. Next, push the fourth button at the monitor and the cuff will be pump. ( The device my be different cause there are variety of BP monitor used by the hospital or clinic)
( If the cuff is loose, it will be shown at the monitor of the device and you need to tighten the cuff)

3. Make sure your patient is relaxed and comfortable. Our blood pressure will rise temporarily if we feel anxious or uncomfortable.
Don't frightening your patient okay.

4. Make sure not to talk with your patient or keep the patient still and silent while taking the reading. Since moving and talking can affect the reading.

5. Take two or three reading. The average of the reading will show more accurate reading. Don't be to lazy to take the reading three times, the machine will calculate it for you. You just need to jot down the reading. Remember, don't be to lazy okay.

6. Record the BP of the patient in their Borang Rawatan because it will be use to suggest the suitable treatment for them.

P/s: Patient with high BP will be asked to walk at the Terapi Alami garden for at least 20 minute to help them lower the BP reading.
And after they finish their therapy, we need to record their BP once again to see if there any changes.

I think it is enough for today. I have share some information about BP and share the normal range of BP with you. So! what is your BP reading? Mine was 103/ 69 yesterday. Make sure to check your BP if you always feel dizzy and take a good care of your health.

Do I look like a doctor wearing the white lab coat? Its actually a picture from yesterday when I was learned how to take the BP reading. Since today I can't get any help to take my picture while taking the reading, I share with you the picture from yesterday :).

I will share different information tomorrow. So stay tuned! Remember, your health is the top priority in your life.

Adios!

Hello again dear reader(s). So today I'm on morning shift and I can update my padlet early than yesterday. My friend and I just finish play at swimming pool.

Dear readers, I know we has been busy with our job, but again I want to remind about the important of healthy lifestyle. Don't forget to do some simple workout for about 30 minute per day.

So today I want to share with you about stroke.

What is stroke?

A stroke occurs when the blood supply to your brain is interrupted or reduced. This deprives your brain of oxygen and nutrients, which can cause your brain cells to die. A stroke may be caused by a blocked artery (ischemic stroke) or the leaking or bursting of a blood vessel (hemorrhagic stroke).

Type of stroke.

1. Ischemic Stroke.
Blood clot keeps blood from flowing to your brain.
Blood clot due to buildup of fatty deposits on the inner lining of blood vessels.

2. Hemorrhagic Stroke.
Result when blood vessels in your brain ruptures or breaks, spiling blood into the surrounding tissues.

3. Transient ischemic attack (TIA).
Mini stroke. Blood clot that temporarily blocks blood flows to your brain. Last for short period of time.

Complications cause by stroke.
1. Behavior changes.
Based of my observation, most of the patients experience changes of their behaviour. Some of the patients will suddenly get angry or will scold you. So you need to be patience and always sincere to help them recover. Don't scold them if they irritating you but talk to them slowly and softly.

2. Speech difficulty.
Some of the patients might experience speech difficulties. They can only talk word by word and take time to talk.

This two complication are commonly experience by the patients. There are others complications.

I think, it is enough for today. Tomorrow I will share other information that I learn at my work place.

I hope, with the information I share with you, you can learn something new today. Don't be to lazy to read and gather information that can increase our knowledge. Someday, we will be able to help people in need with our knowledge and skills.

Adios!

Hello again! So today I want to share about my experience in QLMC. I learn a lot of thing in QLMC and experience lots of thing that I never experienced before.

It is first time for me working at medical centre and takes care of the patients. The first thing I need to know was the patient’s diseases, disability, behaviour and many more. At first I was so awkward with the patients since I never taking care the old folks before. But, as the time flies, I became close with them and treat them like my own grandparent. I hope with my little help, I can bring happiness in their life.

Next is, I meet a lot of people with different diseases and different behaviours. Some of them is very friendly and ask me so many questions but some of the patients act arrogantly. I do believe in ‘karma’. We treat others nicely and vice versa. Please always treat others nicely even when you don’t even know them.

Other than that, I can see that in the modern days, traditional medicine still can gain trust form the people in need. Actually, there is a huge business opportunities in traditional medicine field if this traditional medicine treatments and herbs can get the certificate from government bodies. I hope one day, government can give certificate to traditional medicine practitioners so that they can expand their business to other region.

Moreover, if you are willing to learn, you will gain more knowledge. Don’t put any excuses when your employer asks you to do something. Try to observe and learn something by yourself. Gain knowledge as much as you can at your workplace. It might be helpful to you someday.

I think it is enough for my padlet today. I have meeting at 7 o’clock in the morning tomorrow so I want to sleep early. Huh!

Adios!

Hello readers. Today is Sunday and its mean I’ve been here for two weeks already. Time sure flies fast. Thanks to everyone in QLMC, I learn quite a lot of things. Before this I have no confidence to work in real working environment, but now I gain my confidence back and be able to merge with people in my surroundings.

If you notice, instead of wrote what I’ve done every day, I wrote about what have I learn every day. So today, I would like to share with you about ‘Bell’s Palsy’.

What is Bell’s Palsy?

Bell’s Palsy is a paralysis or weakness of the muscles on one side of your face. Damage to the facial nerve that controls muscles on one side of the face causes that side of your face to droop. The nerve damages may also affect your sense of taste and how you make tears and saliva. This condition comes suddenly, often overnight, and usually gets better on its own within a few weeks. Bell’s Palsy is not the result of a stroke or TIA.

What causes Bell’s Palsy?

The cause of Bell’s Palsy is not clear. Most cases are thought to be caused by the herpes virus that causes cold sores. In most cases of Bell’s Palsy, the nerve that controls muscles on one sides of the face is damaged by inflammation.

What are the symptoms?

· Sudden weakness or paralysis on one side of your face that causes it to droop.

Just get home after working. It’s my first pm shift for this week. Started last week, our pm shift starts at 4pm and end at 11pm. Fuh! I’m on evening shift today and morning shift tomorrow. Erghh! I have to wake up early in the morning again tomorrow.

So today I wanted to share with you the important of family supports to the patients.

Most of the patients in QLMC (ward) aged 60 years old and above have different background and different sickness. Some of them warded in QLMC for a long time and some of them only warded for a few days only. There is no problem with patients who warded for a few days only. But some of them seem to be left here in QLMC and their child rarely visits their mother or father in the ward. The saddest part is when they keep asking when their children will visit them.

Although some of them was senile, but they still remember their children’s name. They frequently asked me when will their children come, I just can say they will come when they are free.

Moral support is actually the most important ingredient in the process of recovery of the patients. Moral support from their children or relative can lift up their spirit to get better day by day. Without a good support, they will feel left out and neglected. They spirit to recover will slowly fade away.

So, if any of your family members suffer chronic diseases, make sure to give moral support to them and fight along with them. This is because they need our support in their toughest time in life.

Adios!

Hello!!

It’s Friday already. Day 19 of internship at QLMC. Almost a month since I’ve started my internship.

So today I would like share about diabetes. Diabetes is the most common disease that affected people worldwide.

What is diabetes?

Diabetes is a lifelong condition that causes a person’s blood sugar level to become too high.

There are two main types of diabetes:

Type 1 diabetes:

Where the body’s immune system attacks and destroys the cells that produce insulin.

Type 2 diabetes:

Where the body doesn’t produce enough insulin or the body’s cells don’t react to insulin.

Type 2 diabetes is more common than type 1. During pregnancy, some women have such high levels of blood glucose that their body is unable to produce enough insulin to absorb it all. This is known as gestational diabetes.

Symptoms:

· Feeling very thirsty.

· Urinating more frequently than usual, particularly at night.

· Feeling very tired.

· Weight loss and loss of muscle bulk.

· Itching around the penis or vagina, or frequent episodes of thrush.

· Cuts or wounds that heal slowly.

· Blurred vision.

Causes:

· The amount of sugar in the blood is controlled by a hormone called insulin, which is produced by blood and into cells, where it’s broken down to produce energy.

· When food is digested and enters your bloodstream, insulin moves glucose out of the blood and into cells, where it’s broken down to produce energy.

· However, if you have diabetes, your body is unable to break down glucose into energy. This is because there’s either not enough insulin to move the glucose, or the insulin produced doesn’t work properly.

· Although there are no lifestyle changes you can make to lower your risk of type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes is often linked to being overweight.

Normal and diabetic blood sugar ranges:

Healthy individuals:

· Between 4.0 to 6.0 mmol/L when fasting.

· Up to 7.8 mmol/L 2 hours after eating.

People with diabetes:

· Before meals 4 to 7 mmol/L

· After meals 9mmol/L (type 2)

Today I learn how to test blood sugar level using blood glucose meter. We can check our blood glucose level using the device. Thanks to fatihah cause willing to be my first patient. I was so afraid to prick her fingertip but manage to do it somehow. What a brave girl. Bravo! (clap hands).

I will continue to share information of diseases and conditions that suffer by the patients who visit QLMC to get treatments.

So today I would like to share about Epilepsy.

Epilepsy is a condition that affects the brain and causes repeated seizures.

The cells in the brain, known as neurons, conduct electrical signals and communicate with each other in the brain using chemical messengers. During a seizure, there are abnormal bursts of neurons firing off electrical impulses, which can cause the brain and body to behave strangely.

The severity of seizures can differ from person to person. Some people simply experience an odd feeling with no loss of awareness, or may have a "trance-like" state for a few seconds or minutes, while others lose consciousness and have convulsions (uncontrollable shaking of the body).

Some people may only have a single seizure at some point during their life. If they do not have a high risk of having further seizures, they would not be regarded as having epilepsy.

Causes of epilepsy.

cerebrovascular disease (problems with the blood vessels that supply the brain) – such as a stroke or subarachnoid haemorrhage

brain tumours

severe head injuries

drug abuse and alcohol misuse

infections that can damage the brain – such as meningitis

problems during birth that cause a baby to be deprived of oxygen – such as the umbilical cord getting twisted or compressed during labour

some parts of the brain not developing properly

Seizure triggers

For many people with epilepsy, seizures can occur without any obvious trigger. However, certain circumstances or the use of certain substances can sometimes precede a seizure. These include:

stress

lack of sleep

drinking alcohol

some medications and illegal drugs

in women, monthly periods

flashing lights (this is an uncommon trigger that affects only 5% of people with epilepsy, and is known as photosensitive epilepsy)

About my lateness to update my padlet, it is because I have no data.

I will continue to share information of diseases and conditions that suffer by the patients who visit QLMC to get treatments.

So today I wanted to share about slipped disc.

A slipped disc means that one of the discs of cartilage in the spine is damaged and pressing on the nerves.

It's also known as a prolapsed or herniated disc.

Symptoms of a slipped disc

A slipped disc can cause back pain and neck pain. Other typical symptoms are numbness, a tingling sensation and weakness in other areas of the body.

The sciatic nerve is often affected in cases of slipped disc. It's the longest nerve in the body and runs from the back of the pelvis, through the buttocks, and down both legs to the feet.

If pressure is placed on the sciatic nerve (sciatica), it can cause mild to severe pain in the leg, hip or buttocks.

Not all slipped discs cause symptoms such as pain, weakness or tingling. Many people will go their whole life not knowing they have slipped a disc.

What causes a slipped disc?

A slipped disc occurs when the circle of connective tissue surrounding the disc breaks down, allowing the soft, inner gel-like part of the disc to bulge out.

The damaged disc can put pressure on the whole spinal cord or on a single nerve root, where a nerve leaves the spinal cord.

This means a slipped disc can cause pain in the area of the protruding disc and also in the area of the body controlled by the nerve that the disc is pressing on.

It's not always clear what causes a disc to break down, but age is a common factor in many cases.

As you get older, your spinal discs start to lose their water content, making them less flexible and more likely to split (rupture).

Smoking can also be associated with a slipped disc because it causes the discs to lose their natural flexibility.

Other factors that can put increased pressure and strain on your spine include:

bending awkwardly

heavy or awkward lifting

sitting for long periods, particularly when driving

being overweight or obese

weight-bearing sports, such as weightlifting

severely injuring your back, such as during a fall or car accident

These situations can weaken the disc tissue and sometimes lead to a slipped disc.

Adios!

Back pain.
Back pain is very common and normally improves within a few weeks or months.

Pain in the lower back (lumbago) is particularly common, although it can be felt anywhere along the spine – from the neck down to the hips.

In most cases the pain isn't caused by anything serious and will usually get better over time.

There are things you can do to help relieve it. But sometimes the pain can last a long time or keep coming back.

How to relieve back pain

The following tips may help reduce your backache and speed up your recovery:

stay as active as possible and try to continue your daily activities – this is one of the most important things you can do, as resting for long periods is likely to make the pain worse

try exercises and stretches for back pain; other activities such as walking, swimming, yoga and pilates may also be helpful

take anti-inflammatory painkillers, such as ibuprofen – remember to check the medicine is safe for you to take first and ask a pharmacist if you're not sure

use hot or cold compression packs for short-term relief – you can buy these from your local pharmacy, or a hot water bottle and a bag of frozen vegetables wrapped in a cloth will work just as well

Although it can be difficult, it helps if you stay optimistic and recognise that your pain should get better, as people who manage to stay positive despite their pain tend to recover quicker.

We also suggested to massage the patients if they suffer back pain.
The pain can be relieved after massage.

Hello dear readers. It almost a month since we started our internship. We learn lots of thing, whether it is good or bad. If you read through my padlet, I often share about the diseases and some information. This is because if I wrote about my job and what I do, it will be the same every single day.

Ward

On the morning we will make sure the therapist massage the patients. The time and type of massages should be jot down. For reflexology it will take 30 minutes to finish and for whole body massage it will take an hour. After finish massage, we assist the patients to do physiotherapy such as cycling, hand exercise, walking, sit and stand and walking at Terapi Alami. At 12pm, we provided lunch to the patients. We proceed to take their BP reading. At the evening, the patients will be massages once again to make sure their muscle will not stiff. They will have tea time at four o’clock and dinner at 7 o’clock. At night, we let them rest or watching television until they fall asleep.

Front Desk

At the front desk we just have to key in the customers information, assist Ustaz while he do medical check-up. Although it seem like a simple job, but acing customers is not that easy. We need to be patient even when we were scolded by the customers.

I already write this in my padlet before. So that was my duty every single day. That’s why I prefer to wrote information about diseases instead of wrote my job.

If I learn something new, I’ll definitely share with you guys. So, stay tuned okay. Thank you and Good Bye.

Today I wanted to share the picture of 'Bekam Lintah'. As you can see below, the picture of leeches sucking one of the patient blood at the point mark by ustaz.
We need to spray water to the leeches to avoid its body dry. Leeches can expand when it suck out blood from human body. It's getting bigger and bigger than its normal size. Sometime the leeches don't want to bite and we need to prick the point to trigger the leeches with the bloods. We will let it suck the blood until its fall itself. Coffee and 'minyak gamat' will be use to dressing the point where the leeches bite. The bleeding wont stop quickly without proper dressing. This is because leeches saliva contain anticoagulant to avoid the blood to clot.

It’s been two weeks since we last jog because of this rainy season. It’s only rain on the evening. Exercising is important to maintain our health. Not only to burn calories but to increase our stamina.

We arrive at Taman Tasik Cempaka at 7 50 am and the aerobic was about to start. My friend and I join the aerobic for about half an hour and then we decided to jog around the lake. There are lots of people jog and join the aerobic at the lake. It’s good that people nowadays realise the importance of exercising. After that we go to pasar pagi to buy some food for breakfast before working.

As usual, weekend is always been so busy because we have lots of customers. Some of them already booked their slots but some of the customers just walk-in. It’s good to hear that some of the customers know this medical centre from their relatives and friends. Some of the customers also bring their family and friends to receive treatments in QLMC.

Good Day everyone. Today I would like to share about Gout. Gout is actually a common disease in Malaysia who affected men over 30 and women after menopause. Gout is common in men rather than women. My uncle also suffers from gout for years. So, I know a little bit about gout especially the food that cannot be eaten by the patients.

What is Gout?

Gout is a type of arthritis in which small crystals form inside and around the joints. It causes sudden attacks of severe pain and swelling. Gout can be extremely painful and debilitating, but treatments are available to help relieve the symptoms and prevent further attacks.

Sign and Symptoms of gout:

1.

I was so excited today because our boss brings us to Broga Hill. Hiking! My passion my soul. It’s is actually our fitness training, sort of.
4.45am we start our trip to Broga Hill at Semenyih and arrive at Broga Hill’s carpark at 5 30 am if I’m not mistaken. We get ready and then start to warm up our body before start to hiking. We start hiking at 5 45 am. There are two trek and we choose the new trek which is actually a shortcut to second hilltop Broga. We take about an hour and 15 minutes to reach the third hilltop. It is our first time hiking Broga hills and none of us know the trek so we ask other hikers and finally we reach at the Broga’s third hilltop.
Breakfast on the top of Broga Hills. We bring tuna sandwiches and apple for our breakfast. Hiking is sure tiring especially early in the morning. We manage to catch the sunrise and it was so amazing and beautiful. We share our sandwiches with other hikers since we bring a lot.
We get down from the third hilltop at 8 15 am and arrive at the entrance at 9 15 am. We frequently stop to snap some pictures because the view is so beautiful although there a lot of deforestation activities at certain part of the hill.
At evening, we go to work as usual.
Million thanks to our boss, En. Fahmi because give us the opportunity to hike Broga Hill. We had so much fun.

The most amazing thing is, our patients name En. Zainuddin and En. Nazir now can walk. After a few weeks warded they finally can walk again. I was so happy for them. I would like to interview both when I have suitable time and also with their permission to.

Although we help them with the treatments every single day on the morning and evening, but it’s up to the willingness of the patients to get better. Some of them have the will and really hard working in doing therapy and walking and the result is marvellous. They can walk again after a few weeks. Without their willingness, they will not be able to recover quickly. Because we need to have the will to do something.

Fahmi told us to go at Terapi Alami. He then show up with golf beg. What?? We in our cupping class and what with the golf beg. Are you being serious? Can someone please help me relate this situation? That’s was my thought at first. I’m sorry if you reading this En. Fahmi. Haha!

He then take out 6 golf balls and give one ball to each person. He then pointed Farhana as the leader. So, our first task is make a round and we need to pass all the balls to the last person with the condition everyone need to touch all the balls. He gave us 5 seconds. We complete the task in 5 seconds and receive the next task which is passing all the balls through everyone in 2 seconds. Wait! What? Two seconds. Are you serious, again? But we actually manage to complete the task. Yeay! How we manage the task will be our secret. Haha! So the moral of the story.. he wanted to show us how we make decisions and how we solve problems in a short time. Fuh!

Done with the golf balls. Then he gave us the next task. He gave us a questions paper. We need to complete all the questions in two minutes. Again En. Fahmi? Huh! Without any hesitations, we start to answers all the questions. And again?? I’ve answer all the 23 questions with all my heart! Haha! Gotcha!

So what is the moral of the story? And is he actually tried to teach us? Can you guess, cause I don’t want to give the answers. Haha!

Okay next! He told us a little bit about cupping. Where is the origin of cupping and why we need to do cupping.

Pregnancy/Prenatal Massage!

Some people believe that pregnant women can’t be massage. But actually pregnant women can get a massage but with the correct ways. There are three points that cannot be massages located at our foot.

Pregnancy massages can help the mother to feel relaxed. Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches or swelling.

In addition, massage for pregnant women reduces stress on weight bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, helps to relax nervous tension which aids in better sleep and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes.

So, pregnant women can actually get prenatal massage.

Benefits of prenatal massage:

Headaches can be relieved by massage focusing on the head, neck and shoulders. In addition, maintaining optimal levels of stress relief through massage reduces the chances of migraines or tension headaches by relaxing trigger points and muscle spasms.

Muscle tension created by carrying the extra weight of a baby can be relieved by encouraging blood flow to the afflicted areas. This provides more nutrient-rich oxygen and also increases the flow of lymphatic fluid, which sweeps away toxins and metabolic waste.

Fatigue, backaches, leg cramps and swelling/edema can all be relieved through various types of massage for pregnant women.

The ordinary aches and pains of pregnancy are countered by the release of serotonin, your body's natural anti-pain chemical, which is stimulated by massage.

It’s already day 68! Oh my! Another 41 days left. I miss my home badly T^T. To be honest, it is my first time away from home for almost three months. What? Three months? I beat my own record. My dad kept asking when I will take a leave. I guess he miss me already.

I think I’ve shared a lot of information, my job and task. I’ve read other student’s padlet and they make it so simple. Just a few points and they wrote the same thing every single day. But it’s okay, for me internship is learning process in workplace or in real working environment. That’s why I’ve decided to wrote what my job is and at the same time what I had learn here.

I’ve share lots of information to my reader(s) and I hope some of information I’ve share can help them in many ways.

So, what’s new today?

En. Zainuddin finally wanted to walk again after a week he stop walking. He slowly stands up while holding a wheelchair and walk slowly step by step. I was so excited because before this he refuses to walk when we ask him to do some therapy. I taught that he might feel uncomfortable anywhere but he seem fine. It’s good to see him walk again.

What I’ve done today?

Today I’m on my evening shift and as usual at the evening we need to record and monitors the therapist massaging the patients.

My friend and I arrange the BHD to keep it inside the files. Some of the patients already had their own files and for the new patients, I need to take a new file for them. Although we have all the information in the system, but we need to kept all the record in case if something happen.

I think it’s enough for today.

Adios!

Hectic weekend!
As usual, weekend will always be the busiest day for us. Things get harder when we have only three women therapists left. Before this everything runs smoothly because we have enough therapists but then they quit for some reason. With only three therapists for women, they have to work harder than before to fulfil the customers demand. Nowadays, the demand is higher than what we can afford to offer. The problem occurs when the customers came without booking their slots in advance. They have to wait if they happen to visit us without any booking.

This is our main weaknesses. Lead time. We have to make our customers wait and ask our therapist to work non-stop.

Good Day everyone! I have to wake up early in the morning again for my morning shift. I’m not really a morning person so I’m more prefers evening shift. But I have to work anyway.

Fuh! Waking up with an empty stomach is not really a good start. So I’m drinking Milo to gain some energy early in the morning. Breakfast is essential to provide some energy for us. Working with empty stomach is a bad idea.

So today is Sunday and as usual we know that it will be a hectic day for us. We already prepared mentally and physically. Haha. Because there not so many customers in the morning, I’m helping staff nurse at the ward. After ustaz finish examining all the patients, we immediately start the treatments.

We bring the patients to “terapi alami” and some of them need to do ant therapy. One of our patients need to do leeches cupping. At first, our therapist in charge of doing the leeches cupping but then she has booking. I then take over her place and continue to do the leeches cupping. Whattttt!!!!!!! I have to do it by myself since all the therapists were busy with their job. OMG!!!!! I’m still afraid to touch the leeches with my bare hands, so I use gloves. What if that blood sucking creatures bite me or walk (walk??? Or crawl or what so ever lah) on my hand?? I can die from shock. Grrrrrr!!

I need to do not only one but two of them (it). I I’m sooooo dead. Haha.

So my first attempt to let the leeches suck the patient’s fingers. With shacking hand I tried to focus, praying that that little creature will bite quickly. After a few minutes, tadaaaaaaa! It finally enjoys the taste of the sweet and yummy bloods. Huahuahua. Okayyy next attempt…. I’m all aloneeeeee!!! Help help!!! While the first leech enjoying ‘his’ meal, I’m struggling with this one to let it bite the patient’s toe.

Finally!!!!! I did it.

Waiting the leeches to fall off is sure a long wait. Fuh! The blood is sure good huh?? I’ve wait for an hour and the first leech fall off while the other still enjoying his meal. Hey leech, I’m hungry too T,T. The leeches finally fall off. Yes!! Finally!! Erghhhhh.

I’m free from leeches. After carefully dressing the leeches bite mark, I immediately go to the café to other something that I can drink. Fuh!!

That’s all for today. Thank you for spending your precious time reading my novel-like padlet. Wakakakkaa.

Adios!!

Hello again!! It’s Saturday!! We expect that there will be lots of customers today but nope! There only a few customers today unlike usual. I think that was because they already visited us last Wednesday which is Wesak Day.

It’s okay because we can give more attention to patients in the ward. Today ustaz examine the patients in the ward and two of them need to do leeches cupping. My friend and I do the leeches cupping while the therapists massage and help the patients do physiotherapy.

As usual the leeches cupping took one to two hour to be done and that was a long wait. I’m sooooo sleepy while waiting the leeches to fall off. They sure eat a lot. Look at the picture, the leech was so big but it won’t stop sucking the patient’s blood. We finish the treatments at almost two o’clock. I was so hungry because I skipped my breakfast.

After lunch we start to check the patients BP and SPO2. We separate our task to make our job easier. While my friends check the BP and SPO2, I key-in all the data. After finish all the job we take a short break before our shift end.

Few days left. Huahuahua!!

Again we don’t have much customers today. So we decided to do our video presentation. After done discussing and find the perfect angle to shoot our video. Few days left until we finish our internship so we need to do everything quickly.

We wanted to shows all task given by our supervisors so we recorded all task that we have done. We even interview one of our warded patients. I’m afraid 20 minutes will not enough for me. We have recorded all the treatments so the last thing that we have to do is record our presentation.

Talking in front of the camera is not so easy. But video presentation is lot better than presentation through skype. We only need to upload our video and share the link. Fuh!

OFF DAY @ Short vacay!

Yesterday at 4 30 o’clock we take Uber and start our journey to Tadom Hills resort for a short break. We arrive at Tadom Hills Resort around 5 30 o’clock and check in at the reception.

I was so amazed with the beautiful and uniqueness of the resort which 95% of the facilities was builds using bamboo. The tent, chalet, hut, chairs, tables and many more are made off bamboo. Good place to relax and chillin’ after a hectic day at work.

We rented a hammock because it was the cheapest among all the facilities offered. There actually a hut but hammock sound more interesting then hut which are equipped with bed. You can swing in hammock.

After take a stroll around the resort, we hang out by the lake side restaurant. We ordered English pies. Bonding time with my bff and enjoying the sunset.

For dinner we ordered BBQ for 3pax cost Rm90. I gave 5 stars for the BBQ. With RM30 for each person we can enjoy lamb, chicken chop, grilled squid and sausage and grilled salmon, pasta, fruits and drinks. Recommended!

We wake up early in the morning and having our breakfast. For breakfast they serve variety of food. Worth your money. At 9 o’clock they open the lake called Tadom Splash. Without wasting our time we quickly jump into the water after done with our breakfast. They provide bamboo raft and bamboo platform with the height of 5meter to jump. Since I have issues with height, I volunteer myself to record my friends jumped from the platform. Huahuahua.

Play time over!! We checked out at 12 noon and Good Bye Tadom Hills! Great experience! Tadom Hills Resort checked!
