Call to Adventure

There was a music competition that Miguel hopes to enter so he stole the guitar of his favorite singer Ernesto De La Cruz.Which then he accidentally becomes a ghost which then forced into the land of the dead.

Refusal of the Call

When Miguel rejects Imelda's blessing to return home,which then he runs off further into the Land of the Dead to look for Ernesto.Miguel was on a journey to meet is idol and find out if he was meant to play for the world.

Crossing the Threshold

Miguel decides he does not need Mama Imelda,blessing to return home. Instead Miguel decides to stay in the Land of the Dead to receive the blessing from Ernesto De La Cruz. By making this decision Miguel is fully committed to his quest prolonging his stay in the Land of the Dead, putting himself in danger of dying and becoming apart of the Land of the Dead indefinitely.

Allies, Trials, and Enemies

Miguel learns that Cruz murdered Hector to achieve the fame he always wished to have. Ernesto is uncomfortable with Miguel's new found knowledge and throws both him and Hector in a cave in an attempt to keep his image clean.

Hector and Miguel start talking about their situation as well as Hector's family, Miguel comes to realization that Ernesto De La Cruz was not his great-great-grandfather.Hector was his great-great-grandfather Miguel then takes the torn picture he had been carrying throughout the journey, and shows it to Hector. Miguel finds an amazing prize his family. Miguel's reward was finding out who his true great-great-grandfather was, and the true reason why he wasn't able to be there for his family.
