They are important in order to find out information that isn’t put out into the open and instead requires a bit of deeper digging. They are also important because they tend to be more specific questions to determine whether a hypothesis is correct or not in contrast to broader questions which what was used to lead up to the inquiry questions.

I typically follow the basic writing process of school but more freely and less ties to a rubric of can and can-nots. I do a rough draft but I don’t go in with the mindset of the paper being a rough draft. The first paper is what I believe will be my final paper but the ending result has a few tweaks but usually minor. I do not consider myself a good writer or even an average writer unless I am writing about a subject I am passionate about or has some type of controversy. If it is a basic paper I will have short bursts of periods where I will not be distracted and finally get some words jotted down but they don’t have any substance to them that a good paper should have. What I consider a good paper is when it entices the reader to continue until the last sentence instead of having the reader force themselves to continue on just because they have to.

What frustrated me this week in writing is how I still don’t have a complete grip on understanding what academic writing is. How I feel about Composition 1 is a lot better than I did at first now that I have a better understanding what is required in it. We are looking at academic writing because it will give us a better understanding on how to write a good paper for Composition one and to become netter writers all together.

My idea of a perfect EIP would be structured, informative, entertaining, bright, and organized. It would need to be structured for the reader to know where to go. In a way it should tell a story and the reader should be able to know which chapter is next. It should be informative for the audience to have gained something from the project and feel enlightened on whatever the subject may be. It should be entertaining to keep the reader hooked and willing to continue on the story that is being presented in the EIP. It should be bright because that will gather attention to the project as well as make it look appealing to the audience. Finally, it should be organized to have a clear representation of the project.

It's interesting to see the other side of the story of something so controversial and to take into consideration the different view points of such a topic.

In Composition 2 it describes how mental health needs more awareness and isn't getting the attention it deserves. Composition 2 also maps where research has taken place and who has been a part of creating that data. It also gives a visual of the mental health facilities available in Charlotte and how they relate to the size of the city. Although through recent years mental health has become more prevalent in the media it still has a stigma that needs to be broken in years to come.

Throughout the semester the most challenging aspect of the class was to get back in touch with my creativity. Throughout the years students are programmed to do Word Documents and essays for assignments and we become accustomed and comfortable with using those methods. This class and this particular assignment helped me realize that writing doesn't have boundaries and shouldn't have this cookie cutter type of way to do all work. Incorporating different types of multimedia for this project was interesting and a nice change of pace. This being the most difficult thing for me personally to work on, became the most fun part of the project and made writing more enjoyable for not only this class but for the future when writing is involved as well.

Word documents are not completely disregarded though because sometimes that is the only way to have a point come across. I chose this topic because it has correlation with my major, psychology, and what I want to have as a career, psychiatrist. It is so important that people at a young age have the stigma of mental illnesses removed in order for us to become a progressive and accepting society.
