"Why are some successful while others fail to achieve their goals"
There are many reasons why people succeed but a lot of it is simply chance. Someone born into a rich family would have a better chance of getting the job they want because they would be able to afford the education and wouldn't have the same financial struggles as someone else might. With that though is the fact that the same rich kid's parents may have expectations for the child meaning they would be achieving someone else's goals and not their own. This is similar to Juliet's situation where her father wanted her to marry Paris but she wanted to be with Romeo. Had she chosen to marry Paris she would be achieving her father's goals rather than her own. But then in that same situation is another reason for success or failure, making the decisions that will bring you closer to achieving your goals even if those are difficult decisions. Juliet could have simply married Paris to please her father but she instead chose to be with romeo even though she was risking everything for it. She may not have succeeded in the end but the decision she made brought her closer to success than marrying Paris would have.

Kaeden said that achieving your goal could be preventing someone else from achieving their goals and that has a lot to do with the chance factor I mentioned before. you can't control what the goals of others are so if say, someone else who's just as qualified as you gets that promotion you wanted that's your bad luck. you both had the same goals but them achieving theirs prevented you from achieving yours.
