 Historically Cuyo was formed by three provinces: Mendoza, San Juan and San Luis. Over time, the ties that united San Luis with Cuyo were accentuated mainly in the Pampean Region; In the case of La rioja, today it is linked to Cuyo for its production.

Aconcagua : The mountain has 6,962 mts. Several glaciers cross its slopes; It is located into the Provincial Park Aconcagua, and is the most frequented by climbers around the world.
Las Leñas: is a ski center international recognition and is the most important center in Argentina. It receives people from all over the world who tour tracks during the day and enjoy diverse nocturnal activities.
San Rafael: center of attraction for tourists, very visited by foreigners, attracted by its incredible andean landscapes with tumultuous
rivers. Very important for its contribution to the Argentina wine, being in San Rafael some of the main wineries and champagnes.
SAN JUAN:
Ischigualasto: It is know as the Valley of the moon due to the absence vegetation, its characteristic relief and the grey color of its soils. It also houses strange mineral silhouettes which day back to 180 230 millions ago: The Parrot, The Painted Valley, The Mushroom, Aladdin's Lamp... Ischigualasto is the only place in the world where you may observe, with differentiated perfection and evidence all the stages of the Triassic period.
SAN LUIS:
Merlo: It is the main tourist destination of San Luis and the third more important city of the province. The particular microclimate of the place is appreciated one of the best in the world, characterized by the particular ionization climate, its climate is temperate-dry, with wind, and surrounded by a large number of streams.

One of the most important resources of this region is the cultivation of grapes or vine and wine making, the Cuyo region being recognized for the excellence of its grapes and its wine production. In the provinces of Mendoza and San Juan, 80% of the country's vineyards and 90% of wine-producing wineries are concentrated. Due to climatic conditions, mainly arid, irrigation is indispensable. The parcels cultivated with vine are surrounded by trees whose function is to stop the cordilleranos winds. Private and public politics are more oriented to the world market than the national one. For this reason it is prefered to make fine common wines or to the   table. During the last years have appeared problems that affect this activity,for example:

-Export retentions, set at 5%
-There is also a need to improve access to credit to allow small and medium players to capitalize
-Achieve sanction of the natural juices bill, which seeks to encourage the industry to use wort to sweeten beverages
-Growth is the over demand of wine
-Competition with other drinks

In addition to grapevine cultivation, this region has agricultural-livestock production under irrigation systems. There is olive cultivation for the production of olives, fruit trees (apricots, peaches and plums).
