it will dissolve faster if you heat, stir crush the solute. soulte is the substance that can dissolve. solvent is the water of alcohol what ever it dissolved in. Aqueous is seeing if it dissolves in water and tincture is if it dissolves in alcohol solubility is when it has dissolved the maximum amount of solute. you can test this by stirring it for a couple minutes and once that is do you will poor out the water without getting the excess solute in the evaporating dish. Then you would boil off the water and then weigh the the solute that dissolve and you would subtract it from the empty watch glass and the cup to get the mass of it.

If it starts to bubble to high take the bunsen burner off for a minute. don't let the liquid get above 105 in temp. make sure you have at least 5 ML. make sure that the plateau is within one degree and it has to do it 3 to 5 times. Do not let the distillation tube touch the bottom of the test tube or the water. Use striker to hold tube and hose in water so it does not fall out. Full up the water in the beaker to about 550ML.
