This quote is from one of my favourite movies which is Hitchki. Naina is an aspiring teacher with Tourette Syndrome who overcomes challenges to become a full-time teacher at an elite school.

This quote really hits home for me as a teacher. There are times when things don’t go as planned, and I feel like I haven’t achieved what I hoped for. But I’ve learned that it’s okay. What matters is that I don’t give up and I keep doing my best for my students. One day, they will benefit from all the effort I put in, even if it doesn’t show right away. No matter what, I know I need to keep pushing to help them grow into good people and useful members of society. So, no matter how hard it gets, I won’t give up.

From today’s topic, I learned that instructional technology is about using tools to make teaching and learning more effective. This fits well with my experience as a Mathematics teacher. I have used Google Classroom to share notes and extra practices especially during holiday , which makes it easier for students to access materials anytime. Apart from that, telegram also one of the medium that our department used to communicate with our students. This reflects how digital tools improve communication and help manage the learning process better.

Using an iPad in class also shows how the TPACK framework works in my teaching. TPACK combines technology, teaching methods, and subject knowledge. For example, I use the iPad to explain Mathematics solutions step-by-step, making the lessons clear and engaging for my students.

This topic reminded me of the importance of learning new technologies. In the future, I plan to explore more apps and tools to make my teaching even better and more modern. Instructional technology isn’t just about devices, it’s about improving the way we teach and learn. Let's seek it !!!

Technology is changing the way we learn and communicate. Coding is an important skill that helps people create software and applications. It teaches students how to organize and share their ideas in new ways. Learning to code is like learning a new language that computers can understand, and it helps students develop problem-solving skills. I also realize that nowadays coding can be a powerful skill in the industry and future.

The internet and technology also bring challenges, especially in ethics and privacy. Information and communication technology (ICT) can track and store personal data, which can lead to security risks. It is important to teach students and teachers about data protection and responsible use of technology.

Many new technologies, like artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), and big data, are changing education. AI can help students learn with personalized lessons, and VR can create real-world experiences for better understanding. However, these technologies also raise concerns about privacy and fairness, so they must be used carefully.

Finally, mobile technologies and social networks are helping education become more flexible and accessible. Teachers and students can connect and learn anytime, anywhere. However, it is important to use these tools responsibly to avoid problems like online bullying or misinformation.

Overall, technology is a powerful tool for education, but it must be used wisely! Adios.

Technology in education is useful but comes with health risks for both teachers and students. Teachers often experience eye strain, fatigue, and back pain from long hours of screen use, preparing lessons, and grading assignments. Managing multiple digital platforms can also lead to stress, while students’ increasing reliance on technology can make it harder to keep them engaged in class.

For students, excessive screen time can cause eye strain, poor posture, and sleep problems, especially when using devices late at night. Many struggle with shorter attention spans due to digital distractions like social media and gaming. Technology can also impact mental health, as online pressure, cyberbullying, and reduced face-to-face interactions lead to stress and social isolation.

To reduce these risks, both teachers and students should take regular screen breaks, maintain good posture, and limit screen time outside of lessons. A balance between technology and hands-on learning can keep students engaged without overdependence on digital tools. Encouraging online safety and responsible tech use will also help protect students from cyber threats. By using technology wisely, both teachers and students can enjoy its benefits while staying healthy.

In this lesson, I learned that digital learning means using technology in the classroom to improve teaching and learning. It helps make lessons more engaging and interactive, which can attract students' attention and enhance their understanding. There are many digital tools available, so teachers need to choose wisely. For me, the best tools should be easy to use for both teachers and students. They should also encourage participation, teamwork, and interaction among students.

I also learned about different learning strategies, like problem-based learning, project-based learning, and interactive learning. These methods help students think critically and work together to solve problems. While digital tools are useful, they should support learning goals and not just be used for the sake of technology. It’s important to plan well and choose the right tools to make lessons more effective.

In the future, I want to explore more digital tools that can make my teaching more engaging and beneficial for my students.

I learned that instructional design is about planning and creating lesson in a proper way so students can learn better. Different theories like behaviorism, cognitivism, constructivism, and social learning help to understand how students gain knowledge. Each theory have different way to make learning more effective. One model that I found useful is the ADDIE model. It has five steps: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This model help teachers to plan lesson step by step so that learning objectives can be achieve.

I also learn that using technology in teaching must be interactive and interesting. Multimedia, collaboration, and quick feedback are important to make sure students stay engaged. It is also important that all students can access the learning materials, no matter their abilities. This lesson help me to understand how to design better lesson. In future, I want to apply these ideas in my teaching by choosing the best methods and using digital tools to make class more interesting and easy to understand.

Presentation on The Apps/Tools we can used in Classroom

For today’s presentation, my group chose to share about the implementation of Nearpod in the classroom. Nearpod is an interactive tool that teachers can use to make learning more engaging. Personally, I really like and enjoy all the features it has because it is user-friendly.

The best part for me as a teacher is that I can choose to conduct lessons using either live participation or student-paced mode. With live participation, I can save a lot of time in class by checking students' responses instantly. The interface displays all student answers at once, so I don’t have to go around checking each student's work one by one. This makes my teaching more efficient.

Another reason I find Nearpod useful is that I can prepare lessons in advance, especially when I have unexpected meetings, training, or other duties. I can upload PowerPoint slides with recorded audio, YouTube videos, and interactive questions, and students can complete them at their own pace. Later, I can simply download the reports to check their participation and progress. This feature makes it a tool that I will definitely use many times in the future.

Apart from Nearpod, I also learned about other digital tools like Blooket, GeoGebra, Desmos, and Gimkit from other groups. It was an exciting class because I got to discover many new platforms that can enhance my teaching. These presentations gave me more options to explore and apply in my lessons.

As teachers, I believe we must always explore new technologies to improve our teaching methods. Since we are now in the digital era, making use of these tools can help us create a more interactive and effective learning environment. Moving forward, I will continue to explore and optimize the use of these tools in my classroom.

ADDIE model

Today, my lecturer explained the ADDIE model, which stands for Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. This model is used as a guide to develop something, such as lessons, training programs, or educational platforms. It provides a structured approach to ensure that the learning experience is effective and suitable for the target audience.

The Analysis phase is the first step, where we identify who will be using our platform, lesson, or website. It is important to understand the learners' needs, learning styles, and skill levels so that the lesson we design matches their abilities.

Next is the Design phase, where we plan the structure of our lesson. This includes choosing a suitable theme, arranging the lesson content in a logical sequence, and selecting an attractive style to engage users. This phase is like creating a storyboard that outlines how the lesson will look and flow.

After designing, we move to the Development phase. Here, we start creating actual materials, such as recorded videos, presentations, and interactive content. One important aspect to consider in this phase is the cognitive load of students. For example, videos should be short and focused to avoid overwhelming learners.

The Implementation phase is where we introduce the developed materials to the learners. This could mean launching a lesson in a classroom or an online platform. It is important to ensure that students can easily access and use the materials. Teachers should also guide students on how to navigate through the lesson and provide necessary support.

Lastly, the Evaluation phase allows us to assess the effectiveness of the lesson. There are two types of evaluation: formative (ongoing assessment during the lesson) and summative (final assessment at the end). We can collect feedback from students, analyze their performance, and determine if the lesson needs improvement. If needed, we can revise and enhance the materials for better outcomes.

All in all, the ADDIE model is a useful framework for creating well-structured lessons. It ensures that learning materials are designed based on students' needs and continuously improved through evaluation. I find this model very practical, and I believe applying it in my teaching can help make lessons more effective and engaging.
