My idea is to create an EcoYouth Integrated City Plan (EYICP)—a program where schools, communities, and local governments work together to implement youth-led sustainable practices.

2) Addressing the Urban Problems:

a. Reduction of Plastics

📌 Solution: “Zero Plastic Campus Movement”

Schools and universities should ban single-use plastics (bottles, utensils, wrappers) and introduce refill stations, eco-kiosks, and eco-friendly vending machines.

Reward students with points or tokens for bringing reusable containers.

b. High Rates of Electricity

📌 Solution: “Solar School Program + Youth Energy Watch”

Install solar panels on school rooftops to supply clean energy.

Form student teams called Energy Watch Patrols to monitor and reduce energy waste (like unplugging unused devices).

Conduct “energy challenges” monthly to encourage power saving.

📌 Solution: “Ride Green Youth Pass + E-Bike Sharing”

Students receive “Green Pass” cards for discounted or free access to public bikes or e-shuttles during school hours.

Promote bike lanes and walkable zones around campuses.

d.

Output No. 9: Global Religion

Topic: Exploring a Global Faith

🛕 Chosen Religion: Buddhism

Reasons Why I Choose Buddhism:

1. Principle of Peace and Inner Calm

Buddhism teaches that peace doesn’t come from the outside world, but from within. I admire how meditation, mindfulness, and detachment from greed or anger help people find calmness in a chaotic world. As a student, this can help reduce stress and anxiety.

2. The Four Noble Truths

These truths talk about:

The reality of suffering in life,

The cause of suffering (desire/attachment),

The end of suffering,

The path to end suffering (Noble Eightfold Path).

This honest view about life’s hardships feels real and helpful, not sugar-coated. It teaches how to live wisely, not just blindly hope.

3. Focus on Compassion and Kindness (Karuna)

Buddhism encourages us to treat all living beings with gentleness, kindness, and no violence. This makes me want to be more conscious of how I treat others, animals, and the environment.

4. Non-Materialistic Living

Buddhism teaches that happiness isn’t from money or fame, but from letting go of unhealthy desires. I think that’s important in today’s world where people are pressured by social media and wealth. It reminds me to value peace over popularity.

5. No Discrimination or Strict Hierarchy

In Buddhism, everyone has the potential to reach enlightenment, regardless of gender, age, or social status. As a young person, this gives me hope that growth is possible for anyone, no matter where they come from.

---

🧘‍♀️ Personal Reflection:

Though I am Catholic, I find Buddhism inspiring because of its peaceful nature, focus on self-awareness, and message of universal compassion. If I were to explore another belief system, I’d choose Buddhism not to replace my faith, but to learn how to live more peacefully and mindfully.
