The Five Steps for Effective Learning really focuses in on "Grounded in student work/ artifacts". You would not get far into the process without first looking at student work to determine the need in order for the process to start! It begins with, hits on in the middle, and ends with student work. It is the guiding force!

I really enjoyed breaking apart a scenario into the 5 different stages. To see how it all can unfold.

We need to model those things to better our instruction to improve said data in our classroom and this leads to a shared goal and steps to reach said goal in our schools together.
