When I first arrived at the lesson, Chris instructed us to begin a relaxation exercise to release any negative energy we were holding. We were instructed to lay on the floor, on our backs, in total silence. The only voice audible was that of Chris. He would tell us to take deep breaths, and to picture ourselves by a beach, in which we could feel the warm sand beneath our backs. By doing this exercise, I believe it helped me focus on the rest of the lesson, as it had allowed me to leave my negative energy on the "beach" that Chris has described. However, I believe this only lasted a short duration of the lesson, as soon after, I had forgot about the task, therefore allowing the negative energy to come seeping in. To improve, I would try to keep the task in my memory, therefore allowing me to keep negative energy out. Not only this, but I would like to try and learn a technique that allows me to keep negative energy out, therefore boosting my performance skills.

After this, we moved on to the main task of the session. We were focusing on traditional and rehearsed improvisation. We had to tell a story, only using the next letter of the alphabet. I do admit, the task grew quite silly, and full of profanity. I believe that if we had took the task more seriously, we would have actually gained some techniques from it; unfortunately, nobody took it seriously, including me. Due to this, I have nothing to write about this part of the session.

we then finished with an activity in which we were given a scenario by Chris, and the rest of the class (audience members) had to guess what we were doing. For example, I had to act like a firework. To do this, I made my actions quite unpredictable, with random hand movements and vocal sounds. I found this task very easy, as I believe that improvisation is one of my strongest acting techniques. I will admit that at some points, I found this task quite hard, as I had never been a firework before. This resulted in me corpsing, as I had run out of ideas by the end of the piece.

If I had any targets, it would be to focus more on the tasks given in the future, as I believe if I don't focus, I won't be able to grow my skills as an actor.
Another target would be to take some tasks more seriously, as I think if I don't take tasks seriously, I won't learn from the tasks.

To start this session, Chris had us doing trust building exercises. We had to pair up, and put our "lives" in the hands of others. For example, I was partnered with Lewis, and I had to lead him around the room, with his eyes closed, and it was my job not to let him steer into walls. I believe this was a good task to include, as even though we had been together for over 3 months, we still didn't all trust each other, so by doing this task, it allowed us to let each other in to our personal bubbles. Not only this, but as the roles reversed, and Lewis led me around the room, i think it bought us closer as friends. this is because beforehand (mostly at the beginning of term) we were extremely catty towards each other. However, I think that if i were to do it with other people in my class, i would not have been able to take the task seriously. i have trust issues, so if i were to do it with someone else, it wouldn't feel the same. I'd be too scared to put my security into someone's hands. If i could set myself a target for the future, i would want to be able to do the task with other people, just to experience the task from another persons perspective. Not only this, but i would like to have this task recorded, as i believe that if i watched it back, i could give my natural on honest reaction's on the emotions that i was feeling as i believe that this would allow ME to see how i truly act, and how i could improve.

We finished with a task that was quite fun. Chris instructed us to talk in a gibberish language whilst trying to book a hotel room. A key part to the success of this piece was body language, and tone of voice, as none of us could understand each-other
