They both had chances to do the right thing, Aaron could have stayed with Alex, or not turn in Artime. High Priest Justine  could have been a better ruler or never created Quill in the first place. I guess I feel bad for some of the people in Quill because they never got the chance to go to Artime. But you don't really feel that bad when they all want to destroy Artime.But at the same time all their lives the Necessaries and Wanteds have been told that creativity is evil and all the High Priest is always right.

In the beginning of the book I did feel a little bit of sympathy for Aaron, but once the book started to progress Aaron really becomes this heartless character that thinks that what he is doing is great and that once Artime is gone he will gain control over Quill and turn everything back to the way it used to be. Aaron is very power hungry and was very mad when High Priest Justine died.
