This quote is so powerful to me because I can't imagine how hard it must be for anyone to see flames and know that maybe their own family could be burning in the flames. In that moment was when Eliezer's faith was not as strong as it was before because he saw how cruel a man could be.

The Nazi Officials begin the "Final Solution", it was a plan to kill all the Jews in Europe. From all the death camps that had already opened, five more opened with the "Final Solution". One of those camps was Auschwitz. 20-25% of Jews had already died from the Holocaust in March of 1942.

I chose this song because it is a song about being strong even when the world is throwing its worst at you. Although many Jews wanted to give up during those times, many of them stayed strong and made it out of those dark times. They all found their inner strength even when they were at their lowest point.

This was a photograph taken at Auschwitz. It is called "Torn from Home" because all the Jews were taken away from their homes and no longer had a place to be safe and call home. Forcing someone to leave their home to soon be executed would cause so much trauma and that's what the Jews had to endure.
