I dated someone and that made me not focus on my work, that made me get bad grades. Having a love person is not great when your young. I dated this boy for a year we were more like best friends then in a relationship. I was with him for a year. That whole year I didn't care about school, I didn't care about my grades at all. I would do the work but would I try my best, no. And that kept going on all I cared about was me dressing pretty to impress. After we broke up I tried my best I tried to maintain passing grades. I always asked to answer a question i dressed up for myself not for somebody else. I studied for tests, Read everything that I didn't do when I was with him and I won an award in 6th grade because i had passing grades. 

How does this relate to the theme?

And I failed the test I only answered the ones I knew the rest guess. Well i stopped being with him and I had a coming up test and this time I did study and payed attention to the teacher and asked questions, because I want to be someone in life so I studied and I got a passing grade. My teachers were proud of me and I was too.

Well I dated that person I only felt horrible because of that and I wouldn't pay attention in the meets I would just join and go to sleep or watch anime or text him. Well we broke up like in the ends of the school term 1 and after that I literally stayed up and do all my missing work since I wanted to not get a bad grade but it was to late so I promised myself i wouldn't date anybody till i'm successful and after my promise I've been doing really good in school.

This example relates to the theme because it shows how I didn't try at school and joined class but not do work and text the guy so then after I started doing my work and became successful.
